You can have a good sense of morality without religion. You can have faith as well, but faith in your own decisions.

Honestly I'm not 100% aware of what you're really driving at.

You are totally right you dont have to have faith in god to live a moral and just life (I am that way) it all really stems to your sense of right and wrong.

My point is that just because one uses a faith in god as a moral template to help guide their decision making process is a good thing, so long as they use the teachings that you do what is best for ALL, that most faiths preach. Not the secondary teaching that those that dont partake your brand are not really deserving of your good judgment, that is the undertones of much religious teaching as well.

I guess it all comes down on how you view topic of the article, global warming. I'm aware of your standpoint on this from reading earlier threads but I am one that leans the other way of the argument. So for me, this probably seems more borderline dangerous than for the greater good of debunking a resource wasteful myth.

This better not tell me that the Jews are some how orchestrating the myth that is global warming.

Zeus, Aphrodite, and all the Greek and Roman gods are mythical. It's Constantine's Jesus. A Roman Soldier! No one in those days knew what he might have looked like. He has been contemporaneously re-invented throughout history.

No. I KNOW I don't have "the answers", unlike religion which either has the answer, or simply proclaims it "a mystery".

But rather than just take the "faith" cop-out, I want us as a species to face our issues and own them.

And how many "worldviews" have you experienced? I've seen some crazy shit on this planet inspired by the uniquely human capacity to convince ourselves that we are acting in accordance with what the invisible man wants. Even if it is genocide. We have got to get past this infantile stage of human evolution.

You my man speak only the truth yet the majority of humanity cannot see how true you speak because they so blindly follow. People cannot fathom the true nature of humanity. They use religion as a cop out. People use them to pass the blame and believe that what their doing to each other/themselves isn't because of what they have decided or done it's all part of some "greater plan". I don't see any difference between santa claus and religion. What is the difference? They are both myths used to control a great mass of people.
