Airport Security: Scanners, pat downs, employee low level screening

Anyone want to lobby to get the speed limit raised to 100mph (outside of metro areas, obviously)? then I could get from WI to VT in around 10 hours. So what if I burn twice the fuel getting there? America needs it's own autobahn style system.

It only takes me 19 hours total to get from VT to WI with a co-driver in the e30. I'll drive.
Should 'only' take a full day each way to get from MT to PA.

Its 48 hours from my drive way to the shop and only 46 hours to where I am working at, thats truck on DRIVING TIME, The fastest I have ever made it by driving is 53 1/2 hours. Had to get a nap in there some where. Then I was beat and it takes 3-4 days to recover form that.

It takes me 30 hours Drive way to drive way from the house in MI to my house in MT and thats pushing fairly hard too NON STOP to get 1990 miles in. I only stop for fuel every 400 miles or so when just traveling or every 240ish if I am pulling something heavy. I pee and eat then and only then.

I was on a Job out in Southern NY state about and 1 1/2 hours from where I am at now in 2008, It took me 4 and !/2 days to get home after lay off day on Dec 17th. Traveling the Northern tier of the USA in Dec, is a crap shoot at best, you never know what you are gonna get for weather and how long you will have to hunker down and wait something out or what you will run into out in the Dakotas, MN, WY, and in MT. It can get bad fast.

The only other Really viable option is to fly in and out of airports that don't yet have the scanners.

Yup, I ONLY fly from small airport to small airports, the extra convenience is great for a little more money.

I want this so badly. I'd be OK with a separate driving test (American drivers licensing tests are a farce, imho) and a rear sticker for this privilege (so only those that can handle it are allowed to do so; I think I'd actually prefer it that way). Cruising at 75mph in good weather during the day feels stupid in a half decent car.

I guess you missed the NW = North WEST in my location. And yes the shop is in allentown or about a rock throw from Jesery.

Really man I have made this trip many times, I have driven across the country more times that I care to count, many of them in the winter. You hop in your e30 ALONE and try that trip and see where you are in 34 hours. My guess about Murdo SD or Fargo ND depending on which route you take Maybe the SD/WY line or the ND/MT line if you are lucky going through Chi and Msp . If going east 34 about mid state OH give or take.

yeah I dont have that option normaly and just grab a hour nap here and there when I need them. But still its 48 hours Driving time for this trip not elapsed time

I can drive just fine, and I would love an American Authobahn, I would. But do I want the ass hats that can't even handle the fucking 45 mph regular roads on an autobahn with me? Hellll no!!!!
