Rastafarians can't smoke weed even though their religions asks for it.
Mormons can't have multiple wives.
Jews, Christians and Muslims can't cut your hand if you steal from them (a religious bylaw common to all three faiths).

What about Hassidic Jews who can't operate mechanical devices on weekends. Are they forfeited their parking tickets? Are orthodox Muslims allowed to apply Sharia outside of a Muslim country?

What is freedom of religion if you can't practice your religion? Just trying to get into a purely rethorical debate.

Simple answer, no. The state is not religiously coordinated, although religion has influence on its members. Government is not a sanction under religious control. This is a large reason why many governments do not function efficiently.

There's nothing wrong with polygamy or polyandry. There's a lot wrong with crazy people who think that abusing children is their way into heaven, however.

As a Mormon, I become quite peeved when my wives argue about what type of soup should be made for supper and squander their time. It is then and only then that I will saddle up the horse and ride to the outskirts of town for a loaf of bread.

As far as I know , less than 5% of the church membership practiced polygamy when it was in practice. A lot of members had a hard time with it and didnt get involved with it. It all boils down to whether the prophets that were commanded to practice polygamy for a short season were true prophets of God or not. If they were true prophets then thats what God wanted at that time and that's that. If not, then perhaps Muslim extremists contain the true doctrine and the only way to get to heaven is to blow stuff up. We will all find out one day. Until then we gotta try to live and get along with eachother and avoid being blowed up.
