So, because some crazy German "christians" approved of Hitler that means that all christians agree with the genocide and insanity that Hitler condoned and brought upon the Jewish race? hahahah ok.Originally posted by ak-Support is where it's at. You shouldn't make such basic assumptions and generalizations.
btw not only a majority of German protestants approved, but also the German church. But hey, I am glad that you are a good Christian and don't approve of this ethnic cleansing. ;-)Last edited by Massive Lee; 12-06-2010, 11:43 AM.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Not exactly on the OP's topic, but Martin Luther, the father of Protestant Christianity, was a rabid anti-Semite. Also a brilliant theologian and political rabble-rouser. Historically viewed as a good guy by Protestants, however even the Lutheran church has condemned his essay "On the Jews and Their Lies" which was an inspiration for anti-Semites everywhere. "News of the Weird" stuff for sure.
It's astounding how quickly ethics and morals become gray as you look below the surface, especially as you go back in history where acceptable values and hot-topics were different from what they are now. If you told someone in the USA 60 years ago that being homosexual ("gay" didn't exist at that time) would be socially acceptable and the US would be best friends with the Germans and Japanese, you would have been shipped off to the loonie bin. Ethics and social values can only be studied vs. the timeframe they were applied in.

Another off topic, but, what was the first structure the Puritans built when coming to America?
