Are we just supposed to say "oh well thats too bad" and then let him rot?

should be family or the local community, not the federal government!

Exactly. Also, we should cut out a large portion of wellfare/food stamps. Drug tests should be mandatory for anyone receiving these, and the welfare money should be tracked to make sure they are spending it on things other than crack and 22" spinners. But thats another debate isn't it??

Also I swear half the people in this thread I never see in any other section except P&R...

Poor argument point, because there is no mandated maximum either.

See my edit, How is it vague, the primary task of the federal govt is to PROTECT the united states IE defense, you know the NAVY, and the Army, so one and so forth.
I gave you the what the founders meant by welfare, again not vague at all. seems fairly obvious to me

LOL Really I now have to clean the coffee outta this computer.

Welfare in that context dose not mean hand out food, housing, heath care, and what not to those that are too lazy to get off thier ass and feed them selves .

Welfare means the well being of the citizenry, so they can live their lives and provide for them selves, and help each other in times of need. Its not the job of the govt, the sooner you get off the socialism band wagon the better
Thats not my point you nimrod. My point was that the part of the constitution that says to provide defense (and welfare) is pretty damn vague.
