I don't think it's that bad. It could be worse, but under the conditions of the act, I guess I am not too upset about it. I would prefer that all illegals be deported though.Originally posted by ak-Support is where it's at. Like a bra. This guy has his bra off though. He lives dangerous and shameless; i like him.

The bill is flawed, considering no illegal immigrant is of good moral character, as they have all shown that they are willing to commit crime.
Let's try an exercise:
This bill would provide certain car thieves who graduate from US high schools, who are of good moral character, stole cars as minors, and have been stealing cars for at least five years prior to the bill's enactment, the opportunity to earn conditional permanent immunity from jail if they complete two years in the military or two years at a four year institution of higher learning. The car thieves would obtain temporary immunity from jail for a six year period. Within the six year period, a qualified car thief must have "acquired a degree from an institution of higher education in the United States or [have] completed at least 2 years, in good standing, in a program for a bachelor's degree or higher degree in the United States," or have "served in the uniformed services for at least 2 years and, if discharged, [have] received an honorable discharge."
It doesn't sound quite as good.sigpic

yeah i dunno, its fuzzy to determine if someone is "in good moral standing".
Hey, I propose an amendment: for every illegal kid who comes to America, gets and education, works hard and contributes to society, serves his time in military/school, we should deport a white trash drug addicted scumball who is technically legal, but is doing nothing but deteriorating society.
So we have the conservation of volume, flow rate in equals flow rate out, and the flow in is cleaner than the flow out. I'd be cool with that. And as an illegal in school becoming legal, you must do your schooling in English.

All I have to say is this, I tried for a month to get someone out to my house to do some handyman work including fix sprinklers, adjust dishwasher, tree triming, sweeping, help move a heavy piece of furniture, could not get anyone to come out to do all, I could hire out individual jobs but not everything. My local illegal came over on a saturday and got it all done by 2:00

See normally I would agree and say kick those mother fuckers out, but something must be wrong with me tonight because I am in the "it's not there fault if they were brought here when they were say 5-10"... Hmm Idk...Originally posted by ak-Support is where it's at. Like a bra. This guy has his bra off though. He lives dangerous and shameless; i like him.

If an illegal is going to spend at least 4 years going to school to become an educated liberal opposed to an uneducated illegal liberal then I'm all for it; besides they can also join the military. If someone wants to go defend this country, fine with me.1985 BMW 325e

I really, really want to hate this bill but I can't. I don't see anything wrong with it. It gives citizenship ONLY to people who came here as children, graduated from high school, did not commit any crimes, and went to college or served in the military. If someone can live here for a period of time and satisfy all of these requirements then I will gladly welcome them as US citizens. They are already better than a large percentage of so-called "citizens" who drop out of school, cant hold down a job, spend food stamps on candy, and are a general drain on society.

It's a sticky situation, I don't like the fact that they are illegal. But, in reality we need a solution b/c mass deportation isn't going to happen.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.
