I'm more concerned with pollution than GW. The Earth is warming-that much is clear from simply observing the ice cap. Way less ice now than before. But is it "our" fault? Not really.

Bigger problem is this: for the majority of the Earth's lifespan, one could drink from nearly any natural fresh water source with little concern. And the air was generally free from particulates, unless you lived in a desert. When I fly into Dayton, OH, I am always taken aback at the thought that only 150 years ago, Ohio was entirely covered with trees. But now, great swaths are laid bare. Does that sort of rampant deforestation have zero effect?

Now, you'd be crazy to drink from a stream without a purifier. And now in many areas, we have to clean the air as well. 100 years of dousing everything we eat with pesticides and dumping toxic industrial wastes into nearby convenient rivers has well and truly fucked the water.

Bottom line is that we've made life too easy. There are too many people in the US for the jobs that still exist, and even in China, where everything we used to make is made now, people are unemployed so long they work for very little.

Our quest for efficiency has meant we now need far fewer bodies around than before. Want to save the Earth and make it a better place to live? Quit having so many babies. People are the biggest terrestrial problem this planet has.

From what I can gather his predictions are very hit-or-miss and he seems to be accurate roughly 50% of the time.

Not sure what that has to do with GW other than the fat that he's a skeptic. "CO2 has never driven, does not drive and never will drive weather or climate. Global warming is over and it never was anything to do with CO2. CO2 is still rising but the world is now cooling and will continue to do so." - Piers Corbyn

        I don't see how that's true:

From what I've read, he is accurate approx 85% of the time and is doing so by correlating weather patterns to past solar cycles.

I will not deny humans have had an impact on earth, I won't deny we don't treat the earth well, I do not deny that are wasting precious resources, but research may show that humans can cause some earth's climate changes but no where near what a lot of propaganda out there showcases. 30 years ago top research then show the earth was cooling, 30 years from now it may show the earth is cooling again. Technology improves, research will change show different things, we don't know. The point is humans do not control what the earth does, we are simple creatures of this earth and not the last to roam it.

I'm still going through information about this guy, but other food for thought is:

Some other organisations also hold non-committal positions.

I usually go along with one of Bill Maher's (I'm bracing for immediate dismissal) quotations on this topic that: "It is simply scientists versus non scientists, and since the topic is science, non-scientists don't get a vote."

As fun as the debate is, I think that in a group like ours, we simply don't know how it all works. It's way above all of our heads, and I like to think that most scientists are without motive when they come to their conclusions (please don't bring up the British email thing - they were resolved of any wrongdoing).

Kershaw there is something wrong with either you or me, as this is like the 4th time we have been in similar opinion in less than a week is the world about to end or something ??????. ( I still think that Human Induced climate change is a crock of SHIT, Its all about the money and redistributing it ) But I will concur with the main point of your post in this thread.

The Little Ice Age, how does it relate to man made Global Warming?
Just another thought....man made is nonsense.
