you are immediately dismissedI'm still going through information about this guy, but other food for thought is:
I usually go along with one of Bill Maher's (I'm bracing for immediate dismissal) quotations on this topic that: "It is simply scientists versus non scientists, and since the topic is science, non-scientists don't get a vote."
As fun as the debate is, I think that in a group like ours, we simply don't know how it all works. It's way above all of our heads, and I like to think that most scientists are without motive when they come to their conclusions (please don't bring up the British email thing - they were resolved of any wrongdoing).
there are plenty of dissenting scientists that believe AGW is bullshit“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”

None that I'm aware of or have heard of.
At least not any credible ones... (before you mention it, Glen Beck doesn't count)
But if you can provide a source to back up your claim I'd like to see it.Comment

Im guessing this is made up as well....
when the United States as well as the UN back the Global Warming scare, squeezing money from the common person, its easy to have the resources to provide a cover up for these actions. "because GOV. knows best"
My take on things is that the Earth goes though phases of both heating and cooling naturally. We just happen to live in the time where our weather patterns are changing. To stimulate economies the Gov. backs this "Global Warming" and manipulates facts to favor their views. Thus scaring people into changing their appliances and what not to keep the money moving. (source: Climategate and Wikileaks)
If Al Gore really believed it was such an issue, he would not live the way he does. He lives the way he does on the backs of you...Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

There was an EU solar panel thing going on the last couple years. The goverment here promised anyone who would invest in solar panels, that they would buy back whatever energy you didn't use and send back into the grid at 6.5x the regular kWh price. They said the panels on a house would pay off in about 8 years and then you'd have free energy for the life-span of the panels. (govt. owns a mojority of the huge energy company)
Noone bought solar panels because a/ the price of the panels (gone down now) and b/ you can't just throw hundreds of pounds on any roof without major restructuring.
What did happen though, was that huge financial companys started buying land, land which is otherwise used to grow food for us or the animals we eat, bribing local small-town politicians along the way. They then built huge panel fields that look like shit, in hope of making humungous profits from the taxpayer's pocket. Electrical prices will go up 5% in January due to this. The government was afraid the prices would go up as much as 15% in 6 months so they quickly created a special 36% income tax for panel to grid sellers.
This is Gore global warming asshat dipshit ideology at its finest.
Oh and carbon credits. Ever heard of those? A virtual game with inexistant credits. A game in which anyone can become an agent. All you have to do is travel to 3rd world countries. The poorer, the better. Tell all the africans in a village to shit in one hole, cover it with a pipe, show them how to use their shit-fumes for fire and cooking, earn credits, sell those to governments, become a millionaire within months.
This is no joke. I saw a documentary about it and I thought it was some stupid comedy. Unfortunately not.
A really really wealthy guy from Texas, an ex-oil giant bought a majority of the rainforests somewhere in South America. I personally don't understand how that's even posssible, but ok. This guy's rainforest supposedly acts as a "counterweight" to all the CO2 humans are producing. In other words, he has a giant factory, that sucks up CO2, therefor he gets gigantic amouts of carbon credits for it, sells them to govt's and corporations and makes more money than he'd make in a thousand years selling crude oil.
Its amazingly awkward how people can create a real-life board game in which only a couple people keep winning.Last edited by Fusion; 12-28-2010, 06:54 PM.Comment

The problem with science is that it's real expensive, and is thus motivated to generate interest and concern socially and politically in order to sustain itself. The same scientific community that brought you GW and "environmental awareness" also brought you modern petroleum fuels, nuclear weapons, and habit forming prescription medications.Comment

I understand that everyone wants to make money, so do I. I'd love to win the lottery, buy stupid expensive cars and 20 whores and a massive whiskey bar.
But where is the limit? How much money do you need to buy any fucking thing you can think of and still have tons left over. What for?
Its the never ending hunger and greed that I don't understand.Comment
