Oh no I value his/your points. And he/you has/have very good ones generally. It just comes over as haughty most of the time. Makes me roll my eyes.
Good points should always be given credit, no matter who they come from....well within reason....lol.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Having met z31 maniac in person and had a few beers with him, I can say he is very intelligent and educated about the topics he speaks on. He does his research and bases his opinions on sound reason.
He DOES NOT go off on rants and tirades that are based purely in ideology and lack credible evidence to support them. He also doesn't attack any 1 particular group all the time and blame them for all of the countries/world's issues.Comment

On a side note, here is a good article on why even climate change skeptics should be interested in tackling pollution issues (things such as energy independence, preserving rainforest, sustainability, green jobs, livable cities, renewables, clean water and air, healthy children, etc., etc)

you know what corvallis, i don't think anyone thinks we do too much to clean up/prevent pollution. the air is cleaner today than when i attended san jose state in 1974. it is the only planet we currently can live on, we should be good stewards of it.
but the GW folks do not, for the most part, base their beliefs on the science, since there is little to none that supports the man made part of it.

I believe that GW is all cow shit!
At the end of the day why doesn’t someone just say
"Hay, we are polluting the fuck out of the world so lets clean up our act!"
When I buy my house I will have solar panels, rainwater tank, veg patch, and use natural gas heating.
Why?
Because one it saves’s me money and two it is good for the environment!sigpicComment

Evidently you have not looked into what you just wrote. If it was that easy and cost effective every house would be built like that!Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

Over here, your neighbor has full rights to look into your house building/improvement plans, and if he says the panels would look aweful and he disapproves of them, there's a minumum chance for you to actually ever get them up and running.
Though they enforce alternative resources.
We have something called a car EcoTax, enforced by the Green Party. Your engine has a Euro emission standard, none-1-2-3-4. Depending on the standard, the next owner has to pay the EcoTax along with registration, converted $500-250-150-0-0. My friend bought an electric car in France and when he wanted to register it, they wanted him to pay $500, since it has no emission standard. Of course it fucking doesn't, it runs on electricity. But the shitheads from the Green Party forgot to add an exemption to their stupid tax.Comment

That is true the Solor panels are not cheap, but the will save you in the long run if you can affored them. Its a good time to get them at the moment as the Australian gov is giving rebate's for anyone who has solor panels installed.
As for the rainwater tank well that is not so hard most house here in Aus have them anyways.
Then the gas and veg patch aren't really a problem or expensive.
But yes the solor panels are $$$$$sigpicComment

^Maybe in OZ, is electricity expensive there?
Solar panels and solar water heating seem to be the two most inexpensive ways to get some "green" into your life. But the problem is, they still don't have a positive ROI.
At least in my part of the country, energy is so cheap that these technologies still don't pay for themselves. Most people aren't going to spend more on daily life just to make themselves feel better. I mean I just our electricity bill for mid-Nov to mid-Dec (we are on natural gas heat though), the total? $31. Even in August when the A/C unit will run nearly 24/7 for a month because even at 2am it's still 90 our bill only gets up around $150.
I'd love to have both these technologies, but I can't justify spending say $3500 for an installed solar water heater (which they still have a gas backup) when it won't even pay for itself over the expected life of the appliance 10-15 years (50-75% claimed energy savings).
And the entire middle of the country has to worry about whether these panels will stand up to the weather extremes, hail storms, etc.
We are just going to do double pane windows, new doors and add extra insulation to the attic. That seems to be the only REAL affordable options for reducing energy consumption, yes we already use the CFL bulbs in every outlet.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
