and if its not for profit, why should tax dollars be spent to pay for abortions, when 50% of the country is opposed to abortion?
personally i'm opposed to abortion, not for religious reasons, but because i have children and i value life. that does not mean i am opposed to someone else having an abortion. but why should i pay for yours?

what planned parenthood does would be provided by the private sector if there was no taxpayer funded planned parenthood.

These guys make a pretty good argument against.

Personally I think it should be a state-by-state thing, a service offered in the best interests of the taxpayers at large, to prevent the taxpaying public from being asked to support mothers who work in low-income fields, but cannot work, or lose their jobs because of the pregnancy. If the woman doesn't think she is ready to be a mom, then provide the abortion and add a reproductive education mandate so that we reduce the likelihood of a repeat performance. Oh, and leave the Feds out of it.

No system will be perfect, but this is not a new problem. It's about time we faced it on modern terms.

It's going to be MUCH cheaper for your tax money to fund an abortion than to pay for years of schooling, health care, etc.

What % of the procedures and services offered by PP are abortions?

Federally funded abortions are extremely limited, due to Hyde Amendment.

I don't think as much money gets to PP for abortions as much as conservatives wish it was true.

Abortions aren't that expensive. We're talking like an abortion is a serious Cost to taxpayers. This should be the least of society's worrys.

Well I really started this thread because I was struck by the apparent willingness of the PP employee to attempt to conspire to circumvent the law. While I agree the tape was edited with malicious intent to make PP look bad, I can't see how the whole tape would make it much better. It may not be representative of PP in general, but it is distressing.

Lol's for the Daily Show segment, though.

It's not that long (or it wasn't, I think the "unedited" versions are now posted on youtube, they split it into 2 because of the 15 min limit), basically makes it look as if the PP employee is advising a pimp on how to make sure is underage hookers get their abortions and treatments without legal entanglement.

That's a great TDS segment. Yep, our newly elected Repubs just can't wait to save us two tenths of a cent per taxpayer.

                    Thanks for the red herring.

Not one abortion should be paid for with tax dollars.

A stupid video is not needed to make Planned Parenthood look bad, they do just fine on their own.

Because we pay TAXES FOR THAT! The fact that a place like PP is receiving tax money makes me sick to my stomach.
