    More Social "Justice"

Officers will impound unlicensed drivers' cars under some conditions only, pending a legal assessment of a ruling in an Oregon case.

Is there a way I can denounce my US citizenship, step over the border to Mexico for a quick minute, then come back in and enjoy all the benefits and free passes that illegal aliens get?

I don't want to have to smog my car in Cali anymore..hello S50 swap.
I don't want to register my car in California anymore..goodbye bullshit DMV fees and lines
I don't want to be required to pay car insurance on any of my vehicles anymore..goodbye 3000 a year in insurance payments. If I hit a law abiding citizens car, I'll just high tail it back to Mexico.
I don't want to have to pay for health insurance..hello government funded free health care.
Most of all, I don't want to have to pay the IRS ten fucking thousand dollars a year of my hard earned money..to support all the other illegal slackers. I'd rather just join them, and reap the benefits of exploiting the United States taxpayers.

this is fuggin bullshit. I understand its their property but fuck the roads are public roads and if they want to drive around unlicensed and uninsured then they are a danger to those who obey the law period. its not that hard to figure out what is better for the public. I swear the government just fixes things until they are broken

That is seriously screwy. The problem is not that they're unlicensed. It's that they are here illegally! We need to fix that first.

Seattle has a whole program to seek Social Justice.

According to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, the program “will reduce prosecutions of driving with suspended license in the third degree by 90 percent because Seattle believes it’s a race and social justice issue, since 44 percent of the charges are being brought against African-Americans.” City attorney Pete Holmes claims that the disproportionate number of blacks being prosecuted for this crime is a direct result of economic inequalities. “Racial minorities are more likely to be poor than whites and unable to pay their fines. If we start to learn and understand that one of those institutional causes of racism is actually in the criminal justice system,” says Holmes, “it’s our obligation as prosecutors to address it.”

Kelly adds that under the program, the city of Seattle will be “seeking shorter sentences against Illegal immigrants or non-citizens on gross misdemeanors to avoid deportation (the difference of 364 days versus 365 days in order to keep the charged individual off the federal government’s radar).” While Holmes asserts that they are pushing the same treatment for all Seattle citizens, he admits that this provision was inspired to avoid deportation for non-citizens.

The Seattle city website suggests that requiring a college degree may be racist for those applying for city jobs and implies that the requirement may be relaxed under the new program. The site reads, “Institutional racism is when organizational programs or policies work to the benefit of white people and to the detriment of people of color, usually unintentionally or inadvertently. For example, job requirements that put undue emphasis on college degrees over work experience may impact those of color.”

                Police Officer Steve Pomper wrote:

The city, using its Race and Social Justice Initiative, continues its assault on traditional and constitutional American values such as self-reliance, equal justice, and individual liberty. But more to our concern, the city is inflicting its socialist policies directly on the Seattle Police Department. When somebody comes in with a policy like that, it doesn’t allow us to treat people with equal justice.
Maybe not the best link but very few are covering this story.

So what's happening here is law or "requirement" that has "unintended" consequences for minorities is going to be "attacked" or removed if it is found to be "unfair" to minorities.
It's the same thing that the DOJ has done with blacks and crack. Because crack is so much cheaper than other drugs statistically black people use it more than many other drugs. So they are lowering the sentence time for the crimes because black people statistically are arrested for it and sentenced for it more than white people...BECAUSE THEY USE IT MORE.

I'd be fine with equal justice like the system intended.

I don't see anything in the la times article that indicates they will impound if you are a resident. I did find this:In a memo to all the LAPD's commanding officers, Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger directed that officers no longer impound vehicles in stops when the only offense was driving without a license. Drivers will continue to be cited for driving without a license. But the vehicle will be impounded only when it cannot be driven away by a licensed driver or parked legally and secured.

Did the 2007 link not fill you in on what was happening? I put it there on purpose. I.E. the 2005 ruling.

Bills Cedillo has tried to pass.

Cedillo said law enforcement resources should be dedicated to pursuing
serious driving offenses such as drunk driving, not licensing
                            violations by undocumented immigrants.
