Either way, the actions of governments propped up by Russia and China should be held against both the offending government and Russia and China as though the actions were their own. Same for us for any of our puppet governments (foreign locations of US military bases as I see it).

Yeah, I can buy that logic. But not with respect to Assad. While Kim Jong Un is bat shit crazy, Assad is dealing with Islamic Extremists. He supports moderate Muslims (like he is and the majority of his country) and allows Christians to live there in peace. So I am not sold on Assad being a bad guy completely. Not a great guy, but stuck between a rock and a hard place. That's how I see it at least.

i think it's a fair argument to make that someone who hasn't seen what war is like doesn't have as much of a say on whether it's okay to use air strikes and chemical weapons on civilians. (kind of like how sleeve thinks he should be the absolute authority on pipelines.)

I actually don't think Assad (although he has committed atrocities) should be removed from Syria. As bad as he is, if he is removed the alternative is probably worse. Look what happened when bad guy Saddam Hussein was removed from Iraq...we ended up with ISIS. No need to create another power vacuum just as it looks like ISIS is being beaten back and we may have turned a corner in some respects toward a more stable future.

Hate him as I do and many others do, I just think removing him would be worse.
