Whats your argument to support that?

It's not like this really changes anything about the decentralized network of Al Qaida, still plenty of foot soldiers, plenty of financing and munitions available (hell IED'd are built in Iran in a near assembly line fashion, nothing really "improvised" about them), won't stop attacks against US citizens/interest/etc.

So other than being able to say, "We got the SOB."

What does it really affect? What does it change?

I never said it was the end, I never said it changed anything, I simply stated that this is the biggest event in the war on terror since it began in 2001. Right?

it's official, they are not releasing the photo(s).

          and WTF...?

Said Obama: "The risks of release outweigh the benefits. Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East."

He added: "Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet. Osama bin Laden is not a trophy -- he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated."

uh... they have killed troops AND posted photos and videos on the internet!??

And now we get no photo, no proof whatsoever. We are required to trust the government. That is a BIG problem for me.

                Yup.

Shame they wont go about being up front. TRANSPARENCY! Don't get me wrong, it is what it is from the ol' Gobbermunt but, it'd be nice if they showed it. I have $20 on them (current administration) being worried about looking too nationalistic.

You've made my rebuttal even easier.

How can you say it is "arguably the most important event in the War on Terror" while at the same time say "I never said it changed anything?"

So my question is, if this event didn't change ANYTHING, how can it be the most important event in the war?

I also never said it was anything to do with changes or ends. I wasn't referring to those things, I was saying it was the largest "EVENT" to date. And it is/was. To date.

LOL, it's a tad bit very extremely late for that... They showed Qday and Usay's bodies. The threats against the US already exist. What's next, we will really really really really attack and kill you infidels!??? Just show the pictures and the videos so we can truly "he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated."

How something can be an the most important event that doesn't change anything is beyond me.

I guess my tin foil is getting loose and the gubmint waves are making it inside!

Panetta said the photos leave no question that bin Laden was killed. "Obviously I've seen those photographs," he said. "We've analyzed them and there's no question that it's bin Laden."

I have questions. I bet I'm not alone.

Note, I never used the word "important" to designate any value to this event opposed to any other event.

Biggest, largest, etc describe the scope of an event, not the results of the event. If I had used successful, important, valued, etc. then you'd have a leg to be standing on.
