Well certainly he would be infallible by our measly standards. What if, when upheld to higher standards, he wasn't 100%?

^if you believe in the fairy tales of the Bible, then ya I guess you could consider that 'proof'. I for one love fairy tales. Sleeping Beauty was actually my mom. True story.

If you believe in god, he must be fallible. He killed 200+ devout christians all over the south with indiscriminate and random tornadoes, while destroying the livelihoods of countless others. Merciful? Peaceful? More like a complete asshole. But those of faith will never acknowledge it, they're so brainwashed they see death & destruction as signs of love

shifting weather patterns controlled by air masses colliding create tornadoes. Not some supernatural zombie god.

So much blind ignorance and bigotry from a supposedly enlightened individual full of open minded, free thought...

I think it comes down to the fact that a belief in a God who has a plan makes it far easier to turn a blind eye toward the suffering of others because "hey-their life might suck, but it's obviously God's plan for them....and they'll receive a reward in heaven!"

Atheists challenge that comfortable delusion. If atheists are correct, and the idea that "God is in the driver's seat" is a total fantasy, then humanity obviously has a lot to answer for...

That's really, really false. While some may carry that thought out to generalize it is a hazard at best. Those that do carry it out need to read their Bibles. Again, professing a Faith and then carrying out your own version of it are very different things. Much like Corvallis acting enlightened while still considering other's of a certain or any Faith ignorant, stupidier and believing in "fairy tales". This is his version of enlightenment.

Fact is, the Bible says nearly the exact opposite of what you brought up as "a belief in God..."

Flying an airplane going back to Constantine's day would of been enough for you to be at least an angel. Can't you just say you don't know?

There is a passage that describes where you are coming from, and as sad in myself as it is to tell you, I assume you'll never understand.

                      Matthew 13
9Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

That last part is Him saying He does not want you, If He did, you'd understand. But, if the day ever comes when you do understand, He WILL accept you.

I know you don't care, but it pains me to know how few will ever have such an understanding, and how many have discarded themselves upon the wayside.

Lastly, who said the tornadoes were either indiscriminate, or random?

Care to enlighten me then? Because I was brought up to believe that wanton death, murder and destruction were bad things, and that if caused by a person/being/god than he/she should be held accountable for their actions.

If a person murders another person, they are punished. If God murders hundreds, even thousands of innocent people in massive disasters, he is praised. W.T.F.

Nobody has to say it because it's simply fact. The sky is blue, space is cold, flowers are pretty and tornadoes are random & indiscriminate in who they kill. Jeez Farbin, you're really falling off the horse lately.

Including murder? damn, that's a sweet deal he's got there.

What if I said, "everything charles manson did is good", does that absolve him of his crimes?

It's not murder. It is his Will. You firstly need to stop holding Him to your standards.

He is not Human. He is not a creation bound by the laws of man.

WOW, now you are making a qualitative judgement on someone's faith.

So how do you "rightly" carry out professing your faith? And how do you determine that your way of "professing faith" is more "right" than someone else's way?
