One can gather evidence for or against, but that God will never be proved has never been a good argument for or against God, since we take many MANY things on faith alone, even things we hear have been proved, we take it on faith that we have been told the truth.

As per my earlier post, I tend to doubt things that don't make sense, rather than things that just can't be proved. Intelligent design just makes too much sense to me right now, and I haven't found a compelling argument that demonstrates how it doesn't make sense. That, btw, is an invitation ;-)
The science vs religion argument is one that Stephen J Gould (famed late biologist) wrote a great deal on. As long as religion heeds to science, there is no conflict.

Intelligent Design is another grasp by faith to remain relevant as its scope slowly dwindles.

You can have a hard on for Religious types, go ahead. Now the middle section? Great. Fantastic. Agreed. What is your issue over all then? I'm missing it.

So what happens if you guys are wrong, you die, and you face God's judgement. What would you do then? Just wondering if you have a backup plan.

it's also really difficult to have any meaningful conversation on religion between us. because i think your beliefs in ancient myths is laughable. and you think my lack of believing in ancient myths is laughable. we are at an impasse. one im happy to let you keep believing in, too. it's entertaining.

Actually, I don't think they are laughable. That's what I'm getting at. But... ah fuck it. What's the point right? We're two equal human beings (in my eyes) that can't have a conversation apparently.

You missed the point. Man, you're ignorant. Not because of my beliefs and you not sharing them. I don't really much care, truly, I don't. It's your take on all of it that's the above mentioned. You should check that.

thats funny! (not a mocking laugh, but a genuine LOL)

Being reincarnated as a moth would lead me straight toward a bright light only to be brought back yet again as a fungus growing on the tire of an e30. If that is the case, then I guess I am prepared for that, so long as it's not a bronzit 325e.

Do you think God cares more about what kind of life you lived (i.e. wholesome, meaningful, helpful to others, etc) or about whether you have someone else's predetermined definition of "faith"?

(and yes, all forms of christianity are not your faith, it's based on what someone else told you you should believe in. The only faith that is truly yours would be a religion you developed yourself)
