Being proud of America because it is unique in certain ways is fine. Being proud of America for things which are not unique is illogical. This could have happened anywhere. Like I said, it's like being proud of America because we have roads. If you want to say that you're proud of America because we can penetrate enemy airspace undetected and drop a group of 30 special forces soldiers into a compound and kill the most wanted man in the world. Now THERE is something to be patriotic about.Comment

No. I'm pretty sure we understand completely. You fail at logic.

If you're so enlightened, then explain it to us.
Because so far all you've said is "America, Fuck yeah!" and called anyone who disagrees with you an idiot. THAT is the definition of bigotry.Comment

I love america too, and being that people in america are capable of such compassion is admirable and thus entitles us to be proud, in the same way that one might be proud of his or her child for making his or her first steps, it is not "special" at all and yet it is the most special thing in the world.
Having said that both of you are defending point of views which are, just that, opinions. I am posting my opinion as well and like anything in life it can be debated, other ideas will contradict it and if someone can rationally refute it I'll be glad to adapt my way of thinking. Further more, I am proud to live in america, because of a large variety of things but in part because we have roads, I acknowledge the fact that some countries do not.Comment
