Das Germany say no-no to nuclear power

I have mixed feelings about it. I think overall it's a good idea to stay away from nuclear power....but only if you have other sources of power that are efficient and abundant. In other words green energy isn't the current answer.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the [federal] government." ~ James Madison
"If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen" Barack Obama -
Exactly, once the pipe line gets shut down yet again everyone will be so joyous there.
Not like the reactors are gonna disappear in a week or two. German has done the green route before in the late 80's early 90's hence why e32 and e36 are such a shitty car they were made to be disposable after 10-15 years and would be recycled at a great green place.Comment

Dumb. We've come this far, learned so much, been tested by earthquakes and tsunamis, learned exponentially more, and we're turning back now? Dumb, dumb, dumb.Comment

Thorium reactors could be a useful answer. The element is plentiful, and the only reason I can fathom that they aren't in use now is that they is utterly useless as devices that could produce weapons grade anything. Did I mention that if one shuts down inadvertently, nothing bad happens?
No need to run away from nuclear energy when there's a fuel waiting in the dirt that requires zero enrichment.

.....leaves to go reseach Thorium reactors amid shame from not knowing they even existed.
EDIT: "Rubbia states that a tonne of thorium can produce as much energy as 200 tonnes of uranium, or 3,500,000 tonnes of coal."
That's pretty mind blowing.
DOUBLE EDIT: In the U.S., NASA scientist and thorium expert Kirk Sorensen calls it the "next giant leap" in energy technology, noting that the "potential energy in thorium is staggering," explaining how just 8 tablespoons of thorium could provide the energy used by an American during his or her lifetime.Need parts now? Germany has been all but castrated. They'll do anything, even at their own detriment, to be and prove themselves as progressive. Sad to see actually.Comment

^ no.
its their culture. why do you think bmw answers all these questions no one asked? a lot of germany is like that.
its one of the reasons they are an economic powerhouse. even if it seems slightly ridiculous at times. as i said, if this manages to take off, they will be light years ahead of a lot of the world in energy production.AWD > RWDComment
