My statement wasn't aimed at anyone in this thread.

If it was, I would have made it clear.

    You big whiners.

^ that is ridiculous. do you really expect the president to pay for every trip he has with his own money? you know what a security risk that is, if he takes his own car somewhere?

god that is a fucking stupid reply. please dont bother replying because i know for a fact you didnt think that out very well.

If Obama paid for everything he did, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Christie is paying for this or at least from what I read he is. If he isn't paying for it, THEN I do have a problem.

that cant possibly be aimed at me.

obama gets flown around all the time. he has his own airplane. i think the cost of the plane dwarfs the cost of a few limos so drastically it does not matter.

Bush traveled alot on business and on pleasure to Crawford ranch. Obama doesn't have a home anymore so anytime he travels costs us double the rate. At the end of last month when he went to Europe his entourage had every military airport maxed out out. We had to goto Bulgaria with an en-flight emergency. Because no USAF air base would take us.

No that is screwed up. Travel on our buck? Thats a perk and they are going to continue to do it as Secret Service needs to travel with the President.

if this is aimed at me, then do a little more research on my past responses.

I am not sure if this is the same. I have to log 50 hours of training a year for my job. I can be payed for the training time, however I can't be "on duty". If it is at all the same, then the pilots training hours can't be logged patrolling something.

I agree with this. The pilot needed hours, the governor had somewhere to go, so they took him. Big deal.

He payed for it basically end of subject and in future if he takes the helicopter again he most likely will pay again.

No different than any other state or federal rep using the perks in the system. just someone cried foul so instead of dragging it on He paid.

The smell of misappropriation is bad for this guy and any politician in this time of 'belt tightening'. Though this trip may have very well been within reason and not a luxury, he exercised bad judgement. Foolish.
