How long will it take for America and the rest of the world to understand that the War on drugs is a losing battle? Look at countries like The Netherlands and Portugal where drugs are legalized and addicts are offered treatment instead of jail. The per capita rate of drug use in the Netherlands is actually lower than in the USA.

Ummmm take it from someone that has made a very good living doing those exact jobs. They are not simple meanial labor there is much much more than that in all those jobs. You have to know what you are doing they are a skilled trade, not to say I could not have trained a chimp to do 2/3's of it, you have to get a few years of experience to really learn it and there are plenty of people that want to do them.

I am talking picking up trash from the high way, parks, and stuff like that, sweeping the side walks, shoveling snow from them, cutting the grass on govt properties stupid shit jobs that take NO SKILL at all.

i read an interesting statement a while ago.
denmark has managed to make drugs boring.

i just dont think that america would benefit like other countries. look at california and weed, they made is SO easy to get a permit and BAM. every stoner and their mother got one. my buddy said he was anorexic and they gave it to him, and btw, he was definately not anorexic. all that happened was the quality of weed and the forms thc came in became more exotic.

anyone else feel americans have a different mind set than other nations?

lol, this reminds me of someone i know.

they suggested around the time of 9/11 that the government should tell the terrorists there are free guns and bombs in a big valley and when they go to get them, get all the water from a big lake and flush them away.

Are you seriously trying to compare chocolate to crack cocaine? Amazing.

I agree that locking these people up is not the answer. They need to be treated and cared for. Letting them go is not the answer. They will commit crime to sustain their habits, and until you have been charged by a HUGE African American meth head sweating so hard he is leaking screaming that he is going to rip your head off, you don't really know what it would mean to let some of these people walk around. Luckily there was a even bigger construction worker at the bus stop with me that scared the guy away with a hard hat. Guys on meth dont go down, and can be hit, pepper sprayed, shocked, and shot and still come at you and fuck you up. Its nuts!!!
You may think that the USA looses a lot of money keeping people locked up, but there are those that make a killing off it as well. To save money the government has turned to private prison companies. The more people that get locked up the more money these companies and their partners (fast food, beverage, and so on) make off of the inmates. Some of these prisoners even make some of the things you and I use on a day to day basis.
The longer these people stay in prison the better. You can make more money off of people if you do not rehabilitate people. The private prisons do not see prisoners as people or even as criminals, but rather as a walking breathing company asset.
The American prison system is not about helping people out, and rehabilitating them. it is about getting as many people in as possible, keeping them there, and getting them back in as soon as possible.

My idea would be to outsource the prisons. Ship them to Mexico or China and pay them to house them at a significantly reduced rate and take the savings to pay down the national debt. As for the prison guards that may loose their jobs, turn them into border patrol agents.
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.

Please don't lump stoners into the same category as meth heads.

edit: and please don't lump all stoners into the same category as assholes who also happen to be stoners.
