12 year old in FB lawsuit

Basically a 12 year old and her circle of friends logged into another "friends" facebook and altered her images, "solicited males for oral sex," and in general screwed around with her account.

Now she is being prosecuted in court and the victim's parents say that "their lives have been ruined."

My first reaction is to think handle this like adults between parents, school, children. This stuff has been going on forever...

What are the older, perhaps parents, members thoughts on the situation?

Nothing involving the legal system or the school system, this is part of growing up leaning how to deal with bullies. This can and should be handled between parents.

On that note the solicitation thing is a bit unnerving, so in the best interests of all involved a good ol fashion ass whippen ought to be in order and should satisfy the punishment requirement adequately for both sides.

Moral of the story, don't be stupid and give out your password. Getting into someones facebook account is not that easy of a task, I doubt a 12 year old girl could do it unless the password was given to her. And life ruining... hardly, "cyber bullying" happens so often that all she has to do is post a status saying "sorry everyone I got hacked" and no one will think anything of it, and the next victim is just a short hour away. I am hoping this press draws attention to real hackers so she knows not to get lawyers involved next time she has a school bullying problem.
