Illegal = ILL-FUCKING-LEGAL period, none of them should be getting housing, food or subsistence, assistance, nor a fucking free college education with out 1st going though the proper process to be here legally.

So the only real way I can see this scholarship working is if they get the kids all the correct papers and they become a citizen right after they are accepted into the program, or with in the first 2 years they are in school. I dont think that will be happening though will it.

The new California law is fairly limited in scope, making undocumented students who qualify eligible for private scholarships. A separate bill under consideration in the legislature would allow illegal immigrants to seek publicly funded scholarships as well.

From my reading of the article, if there is a private, full ride scholarship available, they will now qualify to receive it.

Not to mention we let them keep all the southern territories in trade for us getting their northern ones, but I assume they feel that is not fair today, and are expecting entitlements, much like great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren of slaves.

Fun fact about the Gadsden purchase, Where the AZ boarder angles north at like 25*. It was lazy surveyors that wanted to get home so they made that turn. Other wise it was supposed to continue along to the Gulf of California. Yup AZ was supposed to have water front property. Loans or not, where does the initial payout come from? The fed gv't (ie perkins). Money borrowed is still money paid out, at least until remittance. Honestly, should finaid be thrown around I believe we will see a spike in defaults on student loans in the years that follow.

As it turns out, you can already attend US public colleges as a foreign student under scholarship. One of my good friends from school last year was here on visa from mexico city. As he tells it, he was receiving money from our system.
