When did US citizens become such cowards?

"Over the last decade, virtually every Terrorist plot aimed at the U.S. -- whether successful or failed -- has provoked greater security and surveillance measures. Within a matter of mere weeks, the 9/11 attacks infamously spawned a vast new surveillance statute (the Patriot Act), a secretly implemented warrantless eavesdropping program in violation of the law, an explosion of domestic surveillance contracts, a vastly fortified secrecy regime, and endless wars in multiple countries. As it turned out, that massive over-reaction was not a crisis-driven anomaly but rather the template for future actions."

^ I was thinking that quote before I saw you wrote it. Who new for a brief second we would be on the same wavelength?

The question is would you rather the government stop the eavesdropping knowing the risk for a terrorist attack would increase?

You are completely unfamiliar with the concept of contradiction, aren't you?

You mean like how before the invasive pat downs were started by the TSA 18 months ago, planes were being brought down left and right since 9/11?

To answer the original question. When you create an atmosphere in America of others always being the woe of your problems, paying people to be unproductive, Government paying for people's personal problems, a justice system set up to punish lesser crimes than the inexcusable crimes, workers in some industries not held to a production standard or they're fired etc you get pussification.

                How about this:
IF we just fucking leave them alone and stop helping their enemies, THEN they won't want to blow us up.

I'm honestly surprised we don't have more domestic problems with the congress/senate being a bag of assholes.

                    sure it is.

It takes a lot of motivation to get someone into a country, trained to fly airplanes, then go through with a suicide mission.

It takes a lot of motivation to build a devastating bomb.

These aren't guys who just missed the breakfast menu by 5 minutes and went postal. They are serious enemies.

You only think I'm trolling because you're an American idiot who believes it is acceptable for the U.S to invade/bomb/nuke other countries for no reason other than making themselves richer.

EDIT: "Terrorist" attacks and plots are merely lies to trick your citizens into following the evil agenda of your government. You probably believe that man they killed in Pakistan was actually Osama Bin Laden.

                              ter·ror·ism
                              [ter-uh-riz-uhm] –noun
                              1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.
                              2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
                              3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

                              Shock and awe

Shock and awe (technically known as rapid dominance) is a military doctrine based on the use of overwhelming power, dominant battlefield awareness, dominant maneuvers, and spectacular displays of force to paralyze an adversary's perception of the battlefield and destroy its will to fight.

That's about as deep as I'm willing to take this argument on an internet forum....
