White Teens Kill Black dude

Ya know, if it had been a rabid crowd of white people, pulling African-Americans out of their cars in front of their families, leaving all the cars full of white folk alone, this would have been a Hate Crime with worldwide coverage.

Well farb it didnt take long did it. This will be plastered all over the place ,for weeks to come. Now the media will be able to report on something again, and wash away the WI incident.

Jackson, Mississippi (CNN) -- On a recent Sunday morning just before dawn, two carloads of white teenagers drove to Jackson, Mississippi, on what the county district attorney says was a mission of hate: to find and hurt a black person.

In a parking lot on the western side of town they found their victim.

James Craig Anderson, a 49-year-old auto plant worker, was standing in a parking lot, near his car. The teens allegedly beat Anderson repeatedly, yelled racial epithets, including "White Power!" according to witnesses.

Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith says a group of the teens then climbed into their large Ford F250 green pickup truck, floored the gas, and drove the truck right over Anderson, killing him instantly.

Mississippi officials say it was a racially motivated murder. What the gang of teens did not know was that a surveillance camera was focused on the parking lot that night, and many of the events, including the actual murder of Anderson, were captured live on videotape.

CNN has exclusively obtained that surveillance tape. The group of teens that night was led by 18-year-old Deryl Dedmon, Jr., of Brandon, Mississippi, according to police and officials.

This was a crime of hate. Dedmon murdered this man because he was black," said Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith. "The evidence will show that."

Asked if there could be any doubt whether the intent was to actually hurt and kill a black person, Smith responded: "No doubt about it. They were going out to look for a black victim to assault, and in this case, even kill."

Dedmon led and instigated the attack from early in the evening, he took part in the beating of Anderson, and Dedmon was also the actual driver of the Ford 250 truck that would serve as the murder weapon, according to officials.

As the teens were partying and drinking miles away from Jackson that night, in largely white Rankin County, Dedmon told friends they should leave, saying "let's go fuck with some ******s," according to law enforcement officials

More sick disgusting twisted individuals, I hope they all get the death penalty. This race motivated bullshit needs to stop from all sides, and again being deep south, products of their environment, does not make it right or I am defending them in any way, just another example of the sad state of affairs we live in.

this is pretty sick and twisted i don't see how an individual, let alone a group of people could think in such a way. i couldn't even think of killing/hospitalizing some of the people i hate most, these guys are just sick. i hope they all get the death penalty, if they don't i will be pissed, and i'm sure they will get what is coming there way. fucking sadistic ass holes.

I had been watching CNN.com for more info on the WI state fair story and I never saw anything pop up about it and figured it just wasn't a big enough deal to reach CNN. I went to check CNN.com for my morning news and sure enough the white guys killing the black guy is the main story. The story about the southern hick trash that ran over the black guy for fun is just disgusting but I am with the Farbster and Sleeve about how black on white attacks dont get publicity nearly as much as white on black attacks.

I thought maybe some white guys were just exaggerating about the way these stories get publicity. Nope. this is a perfect example.

That last part. Do we think this was a case of people being raised to hate blacks and think less of them, or was it a convenient story in order to let out some sickening motivation to hurt people?
i.e. if these same kids knew nothing of skin color, would they not have used some other "group" different from their own to enact violence on? Be it homosexuals, women, nerds, or those people on the other side of town.

These kids KNEW what they were doing was against the law, and knew it wouldn't be socially acceptable by the majority of the population, if any of it. Yet they did it, not for someone else, but for themselves, their own sick desires.

Sometimes I wonder if what's left of discrimination serves to give haters a target, instead of causing the hate.

Parting shot: I used the word "hate" intentionally. I think one can be racist or discriminate towards a group of people without hating that group. What these kids did was not what the mainstream has an issue with, which is being more inclined towards a more negitive thought when a set of human characteristics presence its self.
