I will have a look, but I don't think anything about OWS is anti-capitalism. It's about a culture of unaccountable corporate behavior, corporate personhood, and the sacrifice of our once powerful manufacturing to the lowest (also largely unaccountable) bidder, often in a 3rd World country, for the sake of immediate profit only. Such a method is unsustainable. It is understood that the government has been utterly complicit.

Now that Chinese workers are tired of being crapped on, and wages and prices are rising, how long until Chinese corporations buy off enough politicians to let them open up factories here with a blind eye toward how workers are treated? I can see a not-too distant future where after America has been brought to its knees, China builds factories here where instead of minimum wage, they leverage concessions like free room and board at the factory. "see, we take care of the worker's needs, so they don't need to be burdened with so much money!"

But the 1-Percenters would find a way to profit from even this, I am quite sure.....

Yeah, not sure how Mar1 got that idea.

I hope you're kidding about that. Russia is considerably worse about buying politicians and fucking over the poor for the rich.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

My assumption, at least from a brief survey of the "Occupy Portland" movement, is that 90% of them are homeless and only there for a shelter and police protection. The city has spent over $200k in OT pay for police to keep the two park blocks peaceful.

^In New York, the people who have been arrested live in homes worth double the NYC avg, approaching $375k avg across the people arrested vs the avg $190K.

At least in NYC, it appears to be spoiled kids from upper-middle class parents, who are upset because they've realized their Philosophy/Liberal Arts degree isn't going to allow them to live like their parents/their used to.

But I'm also torn on this as those at the top have continue to engorge their salary/bonus structure while middle class wages have been stagnant for over 30 years. More and more middle class manufacturing jobs are no longer available.

what about a federal parliamentary republic? lol. it seems to work out quite well for making awesome cars. :)

honestly, i really dont think our system as a whole is that flawed. it really needs to be cleaned up, but i think it's a good idea. what really needs to change is the amount of corruption that is tolerated. no more buying politicians. no more campaign contributions. very tight control on what lobbyists are allowed to do.
