To blindly accept evolution as a fact and call yourself a man of science is purely contradictory. The scientific method states that:
Create a hypothesis, make predictions, test those predictions by experiments or further observations and modify the hypothesis with your results, repeat steps until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment or observation.
So at best it can be a theory with a lot of evidence. But if you blindly say it is a fact you are no better than a Christian blindly believing in creation.
The beauty of a theory is that it can change and adapt as new evidence is found. Evolution and creation need to be treated like the theory of relativity, to give guidance but not to be the end all be all.
