        we are too PC for that.
        they use that because it works and suits the goals of keeping air travel as safe as it can be. Not to create an illusion that its indeed safe and add yet another useless layer govt bureaucracy and intrusion to to help further condition the masses to such intrusions as commonplace. Not to mention the the fact its a govt jobs program.

          Details on private security providing the screening? Where do they get the numbers? How do you screen 65% more passengers? That implies that a large portion of travelers aren't screened at all.

            I took that as they could screen 65% more people for X amount of money as compared to what the Feds would get done spending an equal amount.
