We should indeed implement profiling here in this country
they use that because it works and suits the goals of keeping air travel as safe as it can be. Not to create an illusion that its indeed safe and add yet another useless layer govt bureaucracy and intrusion to to help further condition the masses to such intrusions as commonplace.
