    The pattern of world events

This isn't something to have an argument over or to tell you what I think but more of something to see what you guys think.

Here is the thing. I have a belief in patterns. Patterns in numbers, nature, humanity and so forth. With the accumulation of laws, regulations and the past and current world events what do you guys think the pattern is to all the insanity? Where is it leading us towards and so on?

For me I see a slow degradation of human rights in democratic countries and I see how the 'ebb and flow' of the market, that we are supposed to accept, as supposing to happen really are an instrumentation of an agenda that I can't see clearly as to what it is. Post it up!

I would agree with you there. What are your thoughts on the cycle of war and the possiblity of something similar to WW2.

Sounds like you're a glass half empty kind of guy. I think if you compare human rights now to any other time in our history, it's way better now in every way. The only thing that has held back progress and human rights is religion. But human reason and logic prevails over time and slowly everything improves. Who knows, maybe in a hundred years, the USA will be as socially progressive as Sweden is now.

As far an "patterns", I think that's the result of the laws of nature, evolution and human psychology.

this coming election and the supremes obamacare decision will influence a lot on where we head. probably the most important election in 100+ years.

obama believes the central government has priority over citizens. constitution says otherwise. people get to vote.

+1. It's really as simple as this.

I think that it will be inevitable; both through the current human mentality for it and also because of what I mentioned in about 'agendas' in the OP. Don't want to beat a dead horse though in explaining that when I have so little of my own research to back it up.

But I would like to think that if the propaganda machine started working for more peaceful solution making pertaining to war, economics and politics then perhaps things could change. It's like all the red meat we eat gets to our heads ;)

True. Do you think that human nature could eventually change in long enough time for that kind of cycle not to happen again?

I agree with the statement that this is the greatest time to live in. That comment was more pointed into the micro aspect of history which would include now. I think that an entire paradigm shift for humanity has to happen first.

I think that different people will see different patterns as we all have our own different perspectives. Having said that, I think that our own personal values act as the lenses for which those patterns arise. To create the objectivity is to gather the perspective of others and see what really is rising on the horizon...

From my point of view, the pattern that I see is the degradation of good 'ol values that were the cornerstone of our freedom. For a lot of people, freedom has been the primary goal, and responsibility has taken a back seat. But we all know that uncontrolled freedom leads to a lot of bad things. What was originally intended as a gift, freedom, has become a curse to those who abuse it.

                              Child-abuse, substance-abuse, horsepower-abuse (kidding)... we all know it, don't we.
