Too much dependency on the gov't is a sin.

Most of us blame the government for all the n wrongs that we see in our economy. What we don't notice is that we are expecting too much from them that we tend to forget our responsibility as a citizen of our country. As an individual, we must act appropriately in accordance with the law so that crime and war can be avoided. We can do big things from little simple ways if we just do it all together then there will be no trouble or misunderstanding. The number one problem today is poverty. If we just help one another and strive hard, then poverty will be lessen. And for those government officials who are corrupt, deep within themselves, you must change for the better and serve the people with all your heart. There are lots of temptations but we can avoid it if we just want to. Think about it.

Its cute that you think the govt is trying to help people..........that is not the goal nor purpose of most of what the politicos do

I see you're new here. Welcome to R3V. With that kind of post, you may want to express those feelings here. The P&R section is more or less for debating topical issues.

Sounds very much like the instructor from Top Gun commenting on pilots over reliance on missiles vs guns!

Gov't schools have been designed for the last 100 years to make good subjects, not educate people.

Clearly the problem is the government over reliance on its people, not the other way round! It's almost like we are all expected to give part of our pay/laundered money/bribes/money that fell off the back of a truck year after year to assure that we can continue to drive to work on roads or something.
