Oregon is trying to be the innovator of ridiculous ideas.
From some of the research I've done the American Indians for the most part don't seem to even care. There are some American Indian groups/people supporting this but it doesn't seem to be very many.

i hope my local high school changes their mascot from the wildcat (wgaf?) to the GERMAN PANZERS to better reflect my heritage.
