There are two types of people in this world, those who understand wealth creation, and those who don't. The person who wrote this article clearly does not.

Wealth is not a finite resource and rich people don't horde it in shoe boxes under their beds. It is impossible to quantify the amount of wealth that exists in the world. All these statistics about the 1% owning so and so amount of wealth are just plain false. Wealth can literally be made from anything and next to nothing. It is everywhere from the ground to the sky, from the kitchen to the garage, and from books to the internet. Perhaps most importantly, wealth exists in the minds of everybody. Yes, everybody is wealthy. You can't quantify any of that.

A small number of people understand these concepts. They understand how the system works, they had an intangible idea and they put their brain to work turning this intangible wealth into some tangible numbers that we like to call money. Steve Jobs wasn't rich before Apple but he had an amazing idea to put computers into every home. Howard Schultz was dirt poor growing up but he knew that everybody loved coffee so why not make it better and charge more for it. Warren Buffett still lives in the same house he did before he became wealthy. And Bill Gates is giving his entire fortune to charity. The man's money is on the brink of curing malaria for god sakes. Why is society blaming these people? Why are we punishing the rich man? Why is wealth a bad thing?

The problem is education. Our schools teach people how to read and write, but they don't teach people how to think critically. Economics (which is an INCREDIBLY important subject IMO) is merely a college elective and not even offered in grade school. People come out of the womb thinking that society will provide them with jobs and benefits and then blame the rich man when they lose their job. Why not go create your own job asshole? Why not create your own wealth?

The education system needs to start teaching people how the system works. All of society's problems from poverty, to health care, to violence, would be solved or lessened if people would just use their noggins.

You can't be just black and white for such a complex societal issue. Just start to plug in humanity's almost natural tendency towards malevolent behavior when exposed to vast wealth and then you will get the idea for this thread.

Kershaw, life is not fair, you have every opportunity to make something of you self. Too many have become complacent and dont want to move or do what is necessary to get a job. How is it fair the my FIL has been living and working in a place he hates for years, to pay the mortgage on house he has not seen or set foot in in 6 years. Because said house wont sell and because he cant find work close to it, the same is true with my MIL she lives and works another 1000 miles away from him, and they see each other about 3-4 weeks a year all to make good on their obligations. How is it fair that there are hundreds of thousands of people that are sitting in their house while not paying for it or getting a bunch of tax payer help to stay in, opposed to doing what they agreed to do. Or letting crappy circumstances rule their lives, and not doing something about it and making something of them selves. There is plenty of work to be had out there, you just have to be willing to do it, or what is necessary to do it. These are not crappy 12 dollar an hour jobs either. you cant wait for opportunity to come to you (like we have taught entire generations of college kids to think) you have to go out and make something happen for your self.
