Even if I didn't believe in, or the law didn't condone capital punishment, killing 77 people might be one of those times I might make an exception.

I don't think the death penalty was the point of this thread but you seem to magically twist everything into your argument. Seriously fucking relax. You care too much.

I don't know what he'll be allowed to use the internet for ... or why the hell he even gets internet for that matter, but it sounds a little insane = kill 77 people? free interwebz for lyfe! ..right.

I'd make sure the guard had some connection with someone who was killed.

Kinda like whispering in an inmates ear that his cell mate is a rapist. No death penalty needed. Just a glitch in the security tapes, and bam, problem solved....for free.

Newer thougt he would be "judged insane" from all that was said in the trial. Followed it all live on tv and according to 99% of all schrinks and "people who should know" he is 100% aware of what he`s done and alwas has been. Theres two schrinks whos been watching him for a couple of weeks and ment he is insane, and two other thats says he belong in jail. And a lots of experts in psykology has been in court and said they think he is mental awake to know whats he`s been doing and belongs in jail.
The cost for keeping him in an institution inside jail is going to be 6000 dollars a day.

But i have no doubt, some day he will meet someone with nothing to loose. And then justice is served..

I'm not saying I agree with the Norway Courts decision to declare him insane and let him live out the rest of his life in that level of "luxury". Far from it, I'd like to see the guy rot in a cell too small to lay down in.

But I find it funny that people declare their justice system to be the best option simply because it's the only one they are familiar with.

This is exactly what he didn't want though, isn't it?

Being quietly taken away to a psyc ward and being condemned to irrelevance.

He did kill 77 people afterall/clearly a nutcase.

My worthless guess is, he fucking hate it in there. He'd probably much rather been shot or thrown in jail so he could spread his psyco horseshit to a captive audience.

Fuck him, let him fade away to obscurity, it'll be sheer torture. *fingers crossed*

This may be controversial but for these sort of reasons I have always been open to capital punishment. Whats the sense in the state paying for this guy surf the web and chat on the phone. Even without those amenities, its seems silly to pay the crazy amounts of money that it costs to house an inmate. In CA the average cost to house an inmate for a year approaches $50k, more than many hard working people make in a year.
                          Speaking of California.

Also, here's a list of inmates who have been exonerated while on death row: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...#United_States
If we've almost killed that many innocent people it's pretty likely that at least one has actually been executed for a crime he didn't commit. That is why I cannot support the death penalty.

As stated in an earlier post, its costing the country $6000 a day to keep Anders Behring Breivik alive and in prison.

He is 32 years old at the time. And the average life expectancy for man today is about 77 years old.

Means he has about 45 years left of his life.

                                365 days in a year x 45 years = or 16,425 days left.

So at 16,425 days left at $6000.00 per day... costing the country of Norway $98,550,000.00 roughly to have this guy live out his life.

I think the $1.5 million is justifiable. Those of you in Norway, when you guys are going to work and paying taxes... just think you are supporting this guy that took out 77 of you guys and is enjoying things like a treadmill and multi room living off your hard work!
