part of the problem is a big % of the "middle class" pay no taxes at all.
so if you guys really think taxes should go up, how about they go up for everyone, that is, everyone has to pay something, a minimum, for the privilege of living in the USA.
also so everyone has skin in the game and has to pay attention“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”

Agreed. I think the Bush tax cuts should expire for everyone. Not just the rich. Glad we can agree on this.part of the problem is a big % of the "middle class" pay no taxes at all.

not only expire for all, but be extended to include evryone currently either not paying at all or getting back more than they pay in.
just like romney's tax proposal, lower rates but a broader base (everyone).
but correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't tax receipts to the gov't double during bush's tenure? and they accelerated after the tax cuts?“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”

No, definitely not. As a percentage of GDP they decreased and deficit increased.
Had they been proportional to the percentage of GDP as they were in the Clinton years and the spending for two unnecessary wars had not occurred we would have stayed in surplus budget during Bush years. He wasn't much of a fiscal conservative and neither is Romney (or Obama to be fare).sigpicComment

Just because the govt spending outpaced increased income does not mean tax revenue went down. Oh and why did slick willy have a surplus again???The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.
