    LOLWUT?

There would be a lot more of these events. You think that all criminals buy their guns legally? Criminals would still have guns, civilians would not. Criminals would use their guns more because people would no longer be able to defend themselves, their family, and their property.

QFT! This ends the gun debate. You don't hear about this too much here in AZ. Too many civilians are walking around with guns holstered. Hell my 52yo landlord (female) walks around with a r3vealed, holstered firearm. Someone would have to be a fucking idiot to pull a gun in a destructive manner in public.

Yeah, unfortunately it does happen here still. That's why I said "you don't hear TOO much" compared to alot of shootings elsewhere. Think like a criminal for a second. You thrive on using peoples' weaknesses. If you know for a fact that a household doesn't have a firearm or protection inside against you, what would keep you from just busting inside at night and terrorising the family and taking their valueables, or even lives?

If someone at a bar you were at accidently knocked over your drink, and he had even just a tomohawk for protection, would you fuck with him? I don't think so.

Sounds like the guy is not idiot, but crazy.

He could've used himself to help innocent people in Syria, instead.

Aren't emergency doors locked from the outside though? They're made to be pushed out in case of a fire, not opened from the outside. Maybe he had an accomplice/inside man open the door, or he knew how to pick a lock...

              And he had an AR-15.

He bought a ticket, sat down for approx 15 minutes, left through the emergency exit and propped it open with a rock or something, got armored up and went back in.

The breakdown of events raises a few questions for me:
                  1. He came in through an exit. LIke you said, locked and only opened from inside.

                  2. Theaters 8 and 9 were the sold out shows. How did he know this?

                  3. Read reports elsewhere that he was casing the theater earlier.

Makes me wonder if he came earlier in the day, bought a ticket to some show, saw on the ticket board that Dark Knight was sold out, went into 8 and taped the door or something?

Seems kinda fishy. Maybe he had accomplice?

right on, I saw some reports earlier of an AK-47 type rifle earlier. When they say that, most likely is not an AK rifle.

1 people all the time exit the movies though the back exits. He could have been waiting till after the movie before ended and caught the door as someone opened it.

2 this movie most likely sold our hours before. Here in Miami you have to buy tickets early in the AM for certain theaters or the day before. Knowing Batman is huge its an easy guess that it would be sold out.

                        You sir, undeniable genius!

Who would have ever imagined that one of the final installment of one of the most popular movie trilogies would sell out the opening shows!

All of you that think abolishing guns completly will end gun crimes need to watch the vice road guide to travel. They go to a small village in the middle east that can crank out 500+ guns a day by hand in caves. Criminals will get guns one way or another. The only way to decrease the number of violent crimes is to decrease the number of violent people, not the tools they use to cause the violence.

I'm talking if they made it illegal for them to be even shipped to the US unless for government use. I'm not arguing for it, but it would cut down on availability. I like my guns, you don't need to go uber redneck same old reasons for why on me. I've heard it before, it is and isn't hard to get yourself a gun illegally...

I'm saying if there were no legal gun stores allowed, it would make it alot harder for the average murderer to find a gun...

and going back to your other post, as well as the mass shooting in Toronto 3 days ago, wasnt there another mass shooting as well in Toronto last month in a food court of a mall?

Does not sound so safe to me...
And why are they different, I'd argue accessibility to weapons contribute to an individuals confidence in being a criminal while some pro gun members of this forum argue that more guns reduce crime. It's all speculative.

Stop picking at a few situation that make the news. How many individual gang homicides actually do make international news in major US cities? Statistically Toronto is much much safer, but base your opinions of it on a few circumstances...it's certainly not evidence for your desperation to prove a point which you can't reasonably make.
