obama is a republican, 50 odd years displaced.

“Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are…a few…Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid,” wrote Republican President Dwight Eisenhower to his brother in 1954

democratic views have also wildly changed as well. therefore, both parties are much different than what they used to be. this is a fact.

Does not matter in the least. D or R, both parties have some decent individuals, but as whole both have been over run and are controled by the progresives. Just 2 differant "branches" of the same group, with the same end goals in mind.

In light of the context of the link, and to whom it links too........ I see much irony in the orginal post!!!

What's a "progressive"? I hear that term from time to time, especially from the right, but from what I understand the term to be, and from what I can tell, the legislation has become opposite of progressive. Progressive means to progress, move forward, evolve, change. I don't see that happening at all in any parts of the government, especially the legislative branch.
Ron Paul is a progressive, Bernie Sanders is a progressive. Obama and Romney are far from progressive, they are both moderate centrists, which is the only thing electable these days.

I am really starting to hate the meaningless rhetoric getting tossed around these days. It is, however, a great way to avoid actually having a conversation about the topic at hand.... you leftist commie bastard.

I enjoy progress and hope that others would be interested in it as well. I would assume that no matter which side of a topic you end up on that your intentions would be to 'make us better'. Much easier in theory than in execution.
