The ridiculous world we live in.

First and foremost, I am an Armenian-American. I am proud to be both Armenian and an American.



Now to the ridiculous news!
A few years ago, an Azerbaijani soldier had brutally axed an Armenian soldier while asleep. Both were assigned to a NATO course in Hungary. Hungarian judges gave the murderer, Ramil Safarov, life in prison without parole. Recently Azerbaijan wanted to extradite the prisoner to Azerbaijan and keep him in prison. After a bit of money was exchanged, Hungary decided to give the prisoner to Azerbaijan. Immediately Azerbaijan pardoned Safarov and not only promoted him, but also declared him a national hero. Now I know the world we live in is disgusting, but since when can someone be called a hero after brutally murdering another individual. I in no way want to start any type of arguments between forum members. I am in no way attacking Hungarians or Azerbaijani people. Put race aside for a minute and just try and digest this situation.

Messed up indeed. The Hungarians should have made sure to keep these two individuals seperated at all times, or maybe taken the course at seperate times. But hindsight is always 20/20.

Yes I've obviously known about the tension between the two. I was born in Armenia. But it just sickens me how a murderer can be viewed as a hero.

Armenia is a Christian country surrounded by Islamic countries. Most of the massacres Armenia endured was because of their faith. Which goes back to jean's comment. I have full faith in god but organized religion is really starting to be the cause of most problems.

There was an elementry school teacher a few months ago who molest 3 boys. She was sentenced, not sure how long though.

simply for the sake of your question..
this person would be true hero if he :
prevented the victim from committing felonies
prevented the victim from starting a war
or in other words...knew the future and the future sent back a note of recommendation.

but, imo there is more to this story....maybe even a plot just to piss people off and start a new war
