I gave you two specific scenarios and you couldn't respond adequately to either one:
    1. how do we pay for local public works and safety
your answer: reduce a bunch of federal spending?

the two aren't related. The City of Portland can't pay police wages with money the federal government saves by reducing oil and farm subsidies!

    2. which specific taxes do libertarians support
your answer: they just do. they do because they must. you don't know the specific because now you aren't a libertarian...you just agree with their policies :\

and the cherry on top: I've either read too much or I haven't read enough!
hahahaha, how's that supposed to work? there's some middle ground of merrily reading talking points but not knowing enough about the issues to speak specifically about them?
You mean as opposed to you just simply out right being so blissfully ignorant as to say Libertarians want to abolish all taxes. I just proved your point completely and utterly moronic.

listen, and try to actually think, you are confused on what we are even talking about because you can't seem to string multiple sentences into coherence. this is the same behavioral trait you exhibited when you can't string the first part of obama's sentence with the latter part of it--like you forget what he's talking about mid-sentence

libertarians want to abolish all the taxes I listed. there are currently no other taxes in existence. some libertarians argue for establishing a flat tax in place of all other taxes. you didn't know this. I asked you which taxes they do support but you couldn't even answer this very basic platform position of the party. that is, you don't even know the positions of the people you said think like you.

you didn't prove anything other than the fact that you're ignorant of what libertarians do or do not support and yet you stupidly post that you agree with them because they think like you. that's a stupid and dangerous position because you're agreeing with something you don't even understand. that's blind. no libertarian would or even could respect your position because it's simply ignorant and the platform is predicated on the philosophy that people are willing and able to think for themselves so they don't need the government to do it for them. but you repeatedly demonstrate the opposite of that.

now back to the thread where I entered. you criticized obama for pointing out we need those basic taxes that libertarians and tea parties are currently opposing and passing legislature around the US to abolish. those are the facts you don't care to educate yourself about.

so he says to the group: listen people you can rile yourselves up about all this shit, no one likes taxes, but they are necessary because they pay for all these things that have to get done to run a country

it's one thing to have a pipe dream about abolishing all the taxes we pay and instituting something in it's place. but the only *real* tangible factual thing that is happening right now on the ground is that libertarians and tea partiers are opposing all the current taxation our federal and local government assesses on the population. everything else you spew is simply pie in the sky talking points--they support some form of limited government so they must support *some* taxation.

yeah, they do, a tax that doesn't exist. that's great. try to pay the bills with money that doesn't exist. you really proved my point moronic there bud.

Now you're just repeating yourself because you feel stupid. That's completely understandable. And I made it very clear I'm not a Libertarian.
And clearly you don't understand what I said earlier about how more people working makes the government more revenue. Adding to the saving we'd collect from all the pork we spend. But see you and you're like don't consider it pork. That's the real problem. You think that every dollar spend is somehow well spent and well justified...unless it's spent by Republicans. Just proving you're a biased hack. Along with your ignorant and moronic statement that Libertarians want to abolish all taxes....yet they want a Government. You said it yourself. Your own statement is conflicting and you can't even see it. That is ignorance. How they're going to keep a tax, well that's why I gave you that link. Because it shows they have more than one idea. They have to have a tax or there will be no government.....now stop your leftist retardation and think.

You're a fucking idiot. The Tea Party is not trying to abolish taxes for fucks sake...lol.

"You're a fucking idiot" is such a beautiful phrase, really. I wish it were more useable in everyday situations. Maybe it already is.

i love how joshh will just pull insults that have no precedence in the conversation out of the air to "prove" his statements.

I don't need to list them, I know exactly where you stand on enough issues to know you're clearly on the left. But thanks for the challenge.

Ridicule of your terrible positions and arguments doesn't make me a leftist. That might be hard for you to understand but it's okay: nobody here expects much of you anyway.

Oh yeah thanks for verifying we're on opposite sides of the political spectrum. So you're in fact a lefty...lol.

I'm not surprised that you cannot separate a criticism of your beliefs as endorsement of the opposite.

In this case it definitely is. Specially the fact you're throwing my "beliefs" (all of them) in their. So much hate for a lefty...but that's typical as well.

Smooth, why are you bashing on joshh for agreeing with certain libertarian ideals? Are you some sort of qualified P.H.D. master wizard in these matters to say with such certainty that he's crazy because libertarianism just CAN'T work?

All joshh was saying that with less spending on what he deemed as unnecessary could be spent elsewhere and more efficiently. LoL most of these debates on this forum could be civil if they were dealt face to face.
