yes indeed. because charity is socialism. and we cant tolerate that here.
Last week, Paul Ryan and his campaign forced their way into the Mahoning County St. Vincent De Paul Society soup kitchen for a photo-op. Ryan picked up a clean pot and started washing it to prove what a great guy he is. He got caught. Ryan’s pathetic attempt to appear charitable in order to score votes has backfired—for the charity. The organization that runs the facility told Huffington Post that donors have been pulling their money out of the charity. Huffpost reports: Brian J. Antal, president of the Mahoning County St. Vincent De Paul Society, confirmed that donors have begun an exodus in protest over Ryan’s embarrassment. The monetary losses have been big. “It appears to be a substantial amount,” Antal said. “You can rest assured there has been a substantial backlash.” He added “I can’t say how much [in] donations we lost. Donations are a private matter with our organization.”
Whaaaaaaaa? The charity is suffering because Paul Ryan chose to try to fool the American people to prove that he’s such a great guy??
When the story broke, Antal told the Washington Post the photo of Ryan should never have happened. He told the newspaper that Ryan and his team “ramrodded their way” inside and the photo-op was not authorized.
What’s worse? Ryan supporters have been targeting Antal and the soup kitchen with angry, anonymous phone calls. Antal reports the charity’s Facebook wall has also been hit with angry posts like “I hope you lose your tax [sic] emempt status,” “Anyone who is thinking about donations to you should think twice,” and “Shame on you Brian Antal!”
Antal told Huffington Post “Honestly, I really don’t need any more attention. I really just want this to go away.”
