    Why don't you like Romney?

I have to make this even and make a thread for Romney too.

So, I've been seeing from the last thread I posted about why people don't vote, that a lot of people didn't/don't vote because they didn't like any of the presidential candidates. It seems like you would really have to hate everything about each of the candidates to make the huge decision to not participate in voting for your next President.

My question is: What are the reasons why you don't like or agree with Romney? Why didn't you vote for him?

It's very interesting to me to learn people's opinions on politics, as I am still developing my own opinions. So, your input would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Because fuck him too.

But really, most of the things that came out of his mouth were utterly ridiculous. Like seriously, how can someone say some of those things?

Oh, I see, you say fuck both of them! hah. Yes, I agree with you too, you can tell a lot about a candidate by the way that they give speeches, how they answer questions, and the content of their speeches. But, out of the two evils, I think Obama was lesser than Romney.

I can't stand Obama, or his wife. I really can't stand how he talks during speeches. Both he and his wife seem, smug, even fake if you will.

I'm a gun toting conservative but I'm very open to new things, unlike most conservatives.

Because he seemed very sleezy and hyporcitical. This is based on the whole surprise press conference in front of Solyndra bashing Obama. I read articles stating the blatant lies that he spewed that were fact checked and found to be completely wrong.

He is a bigger liar than Obama and I feel like he had hidden agendas as being the president. Fake smiles all around.

                - He was dead set against Obamacare even though it was the EXACT same law that he passed in Massachusetts. Obamacare was specifically designed after Romney's health care law in Massachusetts. You can't make this shit up if you tried. The man is against himself!

                - I also don't like him because people believe that he was such a good business man and has so much experience running a company. But his idea of running a successful business is to liquidate and outsource to China. And were supposed to expect this man to create jobs here?

                - He's a member of a secretive corporate cult founded by a charlatan pedophile.

                - He's socially conservative.

The contradiction and hypocrisy of Mitt Romney is ASTONISHING.

                  1. He's beholden to a few billionaires that financed his campaign through super PACs. He made an agreement to take on Paul Ryan as his running mate in exchange for $100m in anti Obama ads.

                  2. He is weak. He constantly changed his position based on the prevailing situation. I think the only people that know what he was going to do as President were the handful of people that financed his campaign.

                  3. Even though he is a moderate Republican, he's not going to stand up to the teabaggers in Congress. Despite all the BS rhetoric about 'Obamacare' from the right wing nut jobs I don't want to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Its not perfect but its a hell of a lot better than what we had before. I pay for my healthcare and I'm willing to pay more if it ensures all Americans have the same access, even if they can't afford to pay. I don't want to see people going BK when they get sick, I don't want to see hospitals going BK because they treat the uninsured, I don't want to be stuck in a job I don't need or want because I'm afraid of losing mine an my family's health care. I think Romney agrees with this point of view based on the legislation he passed in Massachusetts but he doesn't have the balls to stand up for it when faced with the crackpots in Congress.

                  4. I don't trust religious people with political power. Obama pretends to be religious because its politically useful. He's been accused of it many times by the Republicans and I think they're correct on that point. Pretending to be religious is perfectly rational given that there are still enough gullible people in this country that use religion as a litmus test. Irrational is Romney's belief that after death he's going off to his own personal planet to live out eternity. It tells me he doesn't fear death to the degree that any rational person would. If you don't fear death you're more likely risk your life and the lives of those around you. That might be a good trait if you're a cop or firefighter but not if you're the President of the United States with access to the nuclear football.

                  4. Every argument I've heard in support of Romney started with "Obama did _____". Ok great, I get it, they hate Obama, they're perfectly entitled to that opinion. Now what are the Republican's original ideas? Try to not use the word "Obama". The only things I heard were cut taxes on the rich, cut spending on the poor, self deportation, abolish FEMA, repeal Roe v Wade. I disagree with most of those points.

The Republicans rallied around a weak candidate because they were blinded by their hatred for Obama. Most Republicans were shocked by the results on Tuesday even though the pre election polling was clearly pointing to an Obama win.

                  Better luck next time boys.

He's mormon. Sorry if I offend anyone but I worked for a family of mormons (they owned a bike shop) and their views towards woman and many other social aspects of life were ultimately the reason I left. Also, it seems most of the republican party's agenda this year was simply get President Obama out. His fake, politicians smile was horrible too.

I'm not a large Obama fan either and I hate to sound like one of those "lesser of two evils" sort of people but I'm hoping the country is better off in his hands...In reality, we're fucked no matter which of them took office.

Its precisely this kind of knee jerk I know better therefore I'm right and I can talk down to you BS that really turned people off to Republicans. You're not winning hearts and minds here. I get it, you're angry but that's the only message you're putting out there. I hope the right wing unlearns this bad habit at some point because its bad enough having a 2 party system. Having one party for the nut jobs and another for everybody else isn't going to work.

He's mormon. Mormons are batshit insane. Magical underwear? Garden of eden in arkansas? Give me a fucking break. All religions are insane IMO but mormonism? That's way too far out there. Not to mention I hate paul ryan. He's a smug douche.

I grew up mormon... (no longer am) But I find your remark about mormons views towards women very comical.

Was it just this one family or do you have more to elaborate on?
