Health Care industry. Its required what more can be said.
Its like working a construction job and refusing to wear your hard hat when your supposed to, over and over again......... Same deal, company policy, and since it was required the shot was provided.
Now, I am not a fan of unnecessary shots, and to most people the flu shot falls into this category, and with anything there are slight risks to very very few persons with anything. So forcing someone to get a shot, that they may or may not want for their own personal reasons and hinging their employment on it is how shall we say in the gray. As its a personal choice, yet on the flip side your personal choice can sicken or kill a patient at the facility you work at........ Its a Catch 22, for personal freedom/employee rights, and the employers rights and liability along with the well being of those in their care.
I can see both sides to this and I think since these people chose to get into the H/C field/work for a health care provider they have made the decision that getting all the necessary shots is a prerequisite and a condition of their employment. I dont see much room too stand on here, all though some lawyers will see it other wise and use it as a discrimination law suit opportunity and a huge payday.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

The one year I got one (in college), I ended up deathly sick with pneumonia. Never gotten sick when I haven't gotten the shot.
Could be a one off thing, and most likely is, but I've never had the desire to do it again.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

My wife is a home care nurse and she has to get one. She, and a pile of others have refused and thier union has backed them. They are fighting it based on the false information given about its effectiveness, and thier own human rights. Nobody should be forced to inject any UNPROVEN substance into thier body, for a job.
They said thalidomide was safe also.Originally posted by codyep3I hope to Christ you have looks going for you, because you sure as fuck don't have any intelligence.

Inform yourself, make a concious informed choice. Claiming they're useless is pure BS, they have a use but perhaps not one that you yourself will experience.
