I heard this and it freaks me out because I have a child and regardless of what anyone can say or do, this could happen anywhere. Although she isn't in school for at least another 4 years, I still get worried that it could eventually become worse.

But what I never understood is....why the kids? Anyone who attacks children has a serious issue at hand. Children are beings you should NEVER attack. It's a shame they didn't catch the guy and let him sit in prison and get beaten everyday for the rest of his life.

I am legitimately depressed now. I have a kid who will be going to school soon, and now I can't help but imagine the worst. I would go utterly ape if something like this happened to my kid. I feel terrible for the families and friends.

Whatever happens, this will be followed my huge movements for various legislation to attempt to stop this from happening, but it will be for nought. I just hope that my daughter has an elementary teacher who carries a gun and knows how to use it, although that is very unlikely.

Why couldn't he just leave the kids and those teachers alone, what did they do to him? I couldn't even fathom the anguish those families are through right now.

This is terrible.

It is terrible. I will take the heat for posting what I did to make sure this doesn't become a tread about opinions on gun laws.
Children have been killed, lives destroyed, futures changed. Comments regarding peoples opinions on laws and their opinions on either side's stances need not be posted here.
That's all I am saying.
That being said, I would refrain from posting any links to FB or Twitter feeds regarding the shooter or anyone with a similar name. Plenty of sites have already looked stupid concerning such links.
