      There is no hygiene argument that has been valid since running water became the norm or outside of Africa. Religious reasons, that's even more brutal.

          they said HSV-1, that's not genital herpes. It's the coldsore in your mouth herpes that damn near everybody has. Just harmful to newborns.

          Not defending the practice here, it's still fucked up. But I think we all assumed it was the STD from the headline. At least I assumed the worst. meh.
