The runaway armored piece? I understand that guns can go runaway, I wonder if the hydraulics also went faulty and decided to share the rounds with everyone in a 360.

The video from the unit was nuts. I don't speak Russian, but the tone and inflection after it goes off is classic.

So we should respect a guy who blatantly ignores international laws and invades other countries on a whim? Thats what we should look up to, because he "has balls"? That might be the dumbest thing you've ever said.

-Problem: The US is obligated to take action.
-Back when Russia broke up and Ukraine was formed, it acquired the third largest stash of nuclear weapons in the world. Weapons of every kind, including ICBM's.
-When the Ukraine became non-nuclear, the US and Russia signed a pact that guaranteed the sovereignty of Ukraine's borders.
                  - 80% of Russia's oil and gas exports travel through pipelines in the Ukraine. A destabilized Ukraine puts them in jeopardy.
-The Ukraine gave up their nuclear arms- not their ability to make them. A Ukrainian official has stated that it would take them "three to six months" to have a viable working nuclear weapon.

That seems unlikely, unless they plan to steal one. Wouldn't start up of the machinery to manufacture nuclear weapons take much longer than that? They didn't surrender the weapons and keep the plutonium did they?

The equipment is the hard part to get, not the materials.

                      They still have the equipment.

Where is this equipment located? I believe all the plutonium enrichment and weapons assembly cities were in Russia, not Ukraine. Ukraine built missiles for weapon delivery, but not the weapon itself. I don't believe they have that machinery, but, supposing there are such facilities there, the restart of such a process is complicated. It requires a specialized reactor for neutron enrichment to make plutonium. These reactors typically use heavy water. The Savannah River Site built it's heavy water distillation facility years before the first reactor was started.

I simply don't believe the 6 month assertion, and even conceding that, what does Ukraine gain by such a move?
