Ft Hood Shooting part 2

Multiple people are injured after a shooting at the Fort Hood Army post Wednesday afternoon, officials said, and the post is on lockdown.
As many as eight people may be injured, and there may have been two shooters, NBC News reported. One of those was believed to be "down," while the second was believed to be at-large, according to NBC News.

Personally, aside from a police department, I can't think of a single place that has more guns, more people carrying guns, and more people trained on how to use them than the country's largest military base.

What was that about more guns = less shootings??

Ft hood and like all military bases and govt owned facilities is a "gun free zone" where only the law enforcement on post (you know MPs) are allowed to carry weapons off a live fire drill or range. Good try though

Nothing to do with guns. Everything to do with the mental care the Army provides its soldiers and employees.

Absolutely.

The CF is currently going through a lot of issues, suicides primarily, of mental illness and it's effects. When you have a base of tens of thousands of individuals, many of whom suffer from some form of PTSD you're going to be having issues. The start AND end point lie within treatment of these people, not in more or fewer guns on bases.

If anything, I'd say this provides some room to open the debate on letting weapons be carried at military installations.

I think it would be a good option to allow officers and senior NCO's to be allowed the option to carry their side arm, if they wished too
