Oh and the Jews didn't invent marriage. It's part of every culture and every religion: Anamist aboriginals, Budhists, Zoastrians, Pagans, Aztecs, Mayans, Zulus, etc. They all have their own forms of marriage that developed long before the Jewish faith was even a fantasy in someone's mind. Pairing together 2 people is a human act, not a religious one.Comment

Because marriage is a religious event. I don't give a shit about the government paper. Long before laws/centralized governments, there was marriage. I also think that the government should stay 100% out of marriage. There should be no tax breaks, no benefits, etc. This disenfranchises people that choose to be single.
You were probably involved in the no campaign because you wanted to make sure government stayed out of marriage laws, right?Comment

Yes i know, it was a brain fart, the first marriage was Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:24
almost every time the government regulate moral laws it has failed. Prohibition failed, drug war fail, internet piracy failed - just to name a few. the US also has one of the highest divorce rates, maybe this is one that they government should just get out of.
i gave up on voting a log time ago. this place has too many fruit cakes for one vote to make any difference.Comment

I did for years work in the system. i help run voting booths, help with the ballot collection, drop-offs. when 90% of the population votes Democrat in your area, >50% on food stamps, driving cars they cant afford, do all the voting, one independent/republican vote really has no say. hell, if 1000 people like me voted the same way, it wouldn't even effect the outcome in my district.Comment
