I didn't claim that the quote was doubted by anyone, but you did, to remove it's consideration from the discussion. If you ACTUALLY wanted to remove the quote from the discussion, you would furnish proof, easily.
The burden is on you, slick. Either you are too lazy or you simply use the typical liberal tactic of make up a fact to change the topic. Probably both, making you a shitty person as well as a shitty liberal.Si vis pacem, para bellum.

This isn't a lecture hall at the local community college you went to.I didn't claim that the quote was doubted by anyone, but you did, to remove it's consideration from the discussion. If you ACTUALLY wanted to remove the quote from the discussion, you would furnish proof, easily.

I will back Einhorn on this. Its a nice quote but there is NO historical evidence that Yamamoto actually said anywhere on the record. Its generally attributed to him due to his other quotes on the subject of war with the US and the fact that he knew US culture very well. He lived, studied and toured the states for 5 years IIRC in the years leading up to the war, he knew what our capabilities were from a economic and resource stand point and the type of culture we had. Is it likely that he said something similar in confidence or behind closed doors, yes its likely but there is no proof that he did eitherThe American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

Fair enough, however, I disagree with Finklestein's discussion tactics. The erroneous attribution of the quote is somehow designed to render the quote moot.I will back Einhorn on this. The quote originated in the movie "Tora Tora Tora" and you are correct, it is likely a composite of his feelings about the US and what he knew about the country.
Regardless, trying to end discussion over assigning a person to the quote is just a misdirection of the discussion.
Here is another quote folks can argue about: “Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest. If we want the Arms Act to be repealed, if we want to learn the use of arms, here is a golden opportunity. If the middle classes render voluntary help to Government in the hour of its trial, distrust will disappear, and the ban on possessing arms will be withdrawn.” - Gandhi
Pretty clear that he wanted Indians to be able to have guns...Si vis pacem, para bellum.

I wasn't trying to end any discussion. You can't discuss something that was never said.
