Want to know what your county got from the feds???????

In the spirit of cleaning up the MO shooting thread I figured this would be deserving of its own thread. On the militarization of civilian law enforcement

Like the title states you want to see what and how many surplus military items your county has had transferred to them.......

    Enjoy
The following database has been made available by the Law Enforcement Support Office of the Defense Logistics Agency.

Yeah the main site is full of tinfoil, conjecture and general way out there asshattery but the info in this link seems to be accurate and form the feds them selves

Accurate and from the fed themselves seems oxymoron'ish.

Glad to see them here then left overseas, without means or care to protect it from becoming enemy fodder.

Would rather see them sitting in bone yards or sitting in back lots of bases all over than put in the hands of civilian LE that have NO NEED for such hardware

isn't it funny that this and the idea that the government is planning for civil unrest was a conspiracy just a couple years ago and now legitimate news and respected people are reporting it? kinda like how the government spying us was laughed at until its disclosed and now its common knowledge.

Pretty sure the government has always planned for civil unrest...it's called contingency planning....

Then the sob story would be all this equipment going to waste...

No need? Not sure what that statement is based. Feelings? The threats to our world are real.

I'm not one to disagree shut is crazy anymore. Seems this place is going to hell in a handbasket right quick. I agree that ears ago this was all tin foil stuff. I am one and still am one to preach about it. This is more reason for us to appreciate and support the 2A. To keep us all on a level playing field. Do they want the king pushing us around.

As far as dangerous career fields go, police work doesn't even make the top ten. The armored vehicles should go to oil rig workers if it's a question of need...

Yep, you and you're neighbors with your .45 pistols and AK-47s are a match for the "military." (Since we are using the premise of the police being militarized.)

Don't forget they buy body armor and Israeli Defense Force t-shirts and roll around their backyard too.

One more example that our military spending and planning is out of control--not only do we not need to give these away to the police when they're retired from military use, we don't need to build them and invade shithole 3rd world countries in the first place.

DING DING DING we have a winner!

"Gee, we have all this leftover military stuff, what should we do with it? Give it to the cops? Let it sit overseas? Rot in a boneyard??"

How about "Not fucking build it in the first place!"

But then Congress wouldn't get their little pork-barrel projects and massive campaign donations from the manufacturers ;)

Exactly... Oil rig workers need armored trucks more than police do.
