Nine year olds can shoot Uzis, but they don't need to...

Unless, of course, she was prepping for the Zombie apocalypse or the imminent invasion by the Special Forces of the Union of Ze Germans and the King of England.

You think she bought body armor in bulk from www.ohmygodwearebeinginvaded.com or www.idesperatelywannabeanoperator.org?

    Strange.

We complain about the militarization of our police, but its the militarization of our society in general that is troubling.

Really terrible. Really - she shouldn't have to live with that.

Was wondering when this would pop up on here. The instructors lack of competence is what got him killed. Giving a kid a fully automatic weapon isn't something you do.

Your solution to a lack of responsibility is to take away anything that would require to have self responsibility? Before you say gang shootings this and shootings that, I just bought a hookah from a kid who a couple hours before witnessed another kid being killed with a skateboard in front of his house.

Anyone here ever fire an automatic weapon as a child? I guess you could lose control of it, if you're stupid.

The family stopped at a tourist trap shooting range while on vacation and en route to Las Vegas. The instructor was irresponsible and that led to the loss of his life and the life long burden put on the little girl and her family. It's terribly sad, but is far from another leftist excuse for gun control.

I love the use of "needs to" in these contexts, this instance was an accident/negligence in a recreational sport environment. Does a 15 year old need to ride on the back of a quad? No, but it's recreation and shouldn't be told they cannot do it. Can that quad flip over and kill said kid? Yes, and it has happened many many times. The progressive's obsession with dangerous things is getting to be laughable, grow some balls and enjoy the freedom of this country instead of trying to control it.

I never said anything about gun control. You clowns took it there, not me.

Guns presume a certain loss of innocence that nine year olds should maintain as long as they can.

Negligent instructor? Yes. Negligent parents? Yes.

              Social obsession with violence? Absolutely.

Suicide by child. Nothing more, nothing less.

The word "needs" is used by the gun control crowd a lot, you implied it. How is recreational range shooting an "obsession with violence"? More than likely it was a novelty or curiosity by the family while on vacation, one that has never shot a gun. It's unfortunate that the instructor was so lax that it cost him his life and the emotional damage that followed. You're trying to make something out of this because you're obviously bored, meh.

                        While we're at it..

This is in my hometown. Some guy trying to sue to have the rapids taken out because he let his 8 year old kid play in them... But hey, I could die at the skatepark the next time I go. Maybe they should tear it down too.

WTF are you saying with this?

It's an internet retailer's fault that the girl killed the shooting instructor?

As a parent you can censor to a degree of what your children hear/watch and type of involvement in life to certain aspects.

This is a shame. Nearly the same thing happened here in Mass at a local Rod and Gun club.

Just goes to show you the level of stupidity and the fact that a lawyer will take just about ANY case.
