I was slightly dissapointed in bernie tonight. I think he kinda got jumbled up in how he presented his ideas, which could be confusing for some people.

Well its dumb that it keeps getting brought up, if the investigation has not announced a verdict why speculate loudly daily about it.

Id like to know what you think is Irrational about his ideas mr echo chamber.

                    So true Nando.

I was just talking about it with a coworker. You have an opportunity for two somewhat political outsiders to run. It should if nothing else send a message out to both parties that the average voter in the US is just fed up..

I support democratic socialism and Bernie is the closest thing to it.

His ideals and what not are all in check and it's nice to see someone with a few ideas at least...

But i'm only 17 so I can grasp the importance of these things quite yet.

Age doesnt mean anything, If you do your research and believe him to best represent you then you easily see the importance.

I like how bernie kinda called out a lot of the senate/house for not doing their job representing, some of the members missing 80% of the votes.

Kind of Ironic how they think we need "to work harder" and keep the minimum wage low, but its ok for them to make big bucks going to work 2 times a week,

Don't lie, if you could do it to, you would.

Think how bad ass my cars would be if I could do that.

Never mind, I'd just waste the time on gaming/Netflix documentaries/p0rn/yelling at the crows.

I dig Bernie, he's a cool old dude. All that free college and 15 dollar minimum wage rhetoric is just leaving room for negotiation. As if you were selling your car on craigslist, listing it for about one thousand more than what you actually want and when you come down the buyer feels like they are winning. Hillary said 12 dollar minimum which what you pay should be raised to after working you job a couple years anyway.
People like Trump are those that waffled this country up. All their "me, me, me, business, business" selfish racist bull shit. With the way he speaks all he will do is alienate those in a neighboring country creating enemies closer to home just as we have created those that are oceans away.

Bernie, like Trump, is a little out there but the one issue that really sticks with me is free education. Education is already free in 11? States and there are Government grants that make higher education easily affordable (Pell). Toss in a few work studies, and there is little excuse to not be able to afford college. The problem is that a number of students take the "free" money and then don't graduate on time, don't graduate at all, or graduate with a low value degree.

I live in TN; the year I graduated high school was the first year TN started to offer the Hope Scholarship funded by the Tennessee Lottery. The Scholarship, combined with the Pell grant, meant that my tuition was completely paid for and then some, I actually received a refund check at the beginning of each semester. However, to maintain the funding, I was required to keep a minimum GPA and be enrolled as a full time student.

So what's my issue with free education? It took me 7 years to complete my education and during that time I watched a number of class mates drop out. Several more classmates changed majors "just to finish.” Their degrees are useless and they have spent a fair amount of tax payer’s money to go work in a position that requires no higher education or skill. I also watched classmates take out large loans to pay for degrees that were never going to have a return. They were never really interested in college but they wanted a cheap, low interest way to fund their trips, partying, and lifestyle. They are now working in job's that are not related to their degree, making slightly higher than minimum wage, and have several thousand dollars in student loans.

A better solution is to have the student pay for the education up front and then work with the employers to forgive or work off the loans. This is a practice that is already done for medical students (with some fine print) and it works rather well. Another method is to have the corporations who are going to be hiring the students pay for the education. Several large companies already offer college tuition reimbursement or scholarships. This would ensure students are getting degrees that are beneficial to the market place and not a funding source for a few years of entertainment.

The issue with higher education is not the cost, it’s the students. Students that lack motivation.

Any candidate that talks about free education makes me leery…it has to be paid for by someone.

Germany's free college for all sounds great, but there are many hidden problems when a third party is paying the bill.

Whaaaaa.. .You mean a Liberal Arts degree is NOT a path to a high paying career?!

...That would explain all the under employed hipsters clogging up my commute in Portland.
