My mom has complained more than that when I was going 10mph under the limit.

        So true! Love that photo!

I couldn't watch more than the first minute of this. I had to switch it off the moment I saw him driving with one hand in the "douchebag" position, and the other hand sitting idle on the gearshift lever. You could at least use the shift lever to change gears occasionally.

It's the Nürburgring for god's sake! BOTH hands on the wheel!!!

Even worse, have you ever watched Bill Caswell's lap of the Nürburgring? For crying out loud. Some people would sell a kidney for a chance to do a proper lap of this mecca of all race tracks. Yet, Caswell is not paying any attention to what he's doing because he's much more focused on punching buttons on the freakin' radio for the entire lap.

I just want to run away screaming when I see that. But I managed to sit through all of Caswell's video because I kept expecting him to crash...

So funny! I'm searching for a photo and this post shows up! Hey Ferdinand, you do realize thats a station wagon right? Like a 110hp station wagon. It was the most painful thing ever. and keep in mind the ring is a public highway, you'll come around a corner flat out and find a tour van/ bus cruising along... sure they're off line, but man the line crosses over a lot at that track. Catch the slow moving vehicle at the wrong time...its why they're called the tourist laps or sessions.

But here's some more stuff for you to rag on. 2nd place behind ACP at Targa Newfoundland:

And here's me in a Fiesta St having fun again at the Ring:

And I fly back on saturday. I just got my FIA license and I race at the Nurburgring April 5 in an Audi RS4!!! If it goes well I run the 24hr in June... Amazing what's happened in a little over 4 years... And all because I bought an E30 as my first car and just kept doing more and more and more with it.

Bill Caswell ftw (and E30s too)

Good luck at the 'ring, the closest I'll probably ever get is in Gran Turismo!

I ran Targa in 2012 in a very stock M3 with Nav and air conditioning still functioning. We finished second behind ACP. it was his 7th or 8th time running and he had full notes not the Tulips we were supplied with.

And every so often I log into read a tech post or someone sends a link to a post talking about me. so yeah it was a year old or whatever. Still funny to me that people freak out over hand positions. Try driving a rally car at speed while the car is coming apart around you or the intercom get snagged and pulled from your helmet... Don't you dare remove your hands from the 10 and 2 position or you might crash... Its something they teach novices because they can't really teach you how to drive at speed yet.

Here's another one for Ferdinand. This is practice for the 6hr race I ran at the Nurburgring in April where I not only didn't crash but actually won my class, qualified for the 24hr, and brought home a trophy. Goes to show that hand positions in a 100hp touring escort on a public toll road have nothing to do with your ability to race a V8 powered RS4 on the same track.

Waaaaaah, I can't watch any of the videos. My pile of Verizon shows the YouTube videos are either private or error [400]
