-light is great, but I'd sometimes rather be in a heavier car with the same power to weight ratio because they're less bothered by the wind. They will keep accelerating to higher speeds when I'm hitting a wall. Lighter is better for cornering, wear and braking 10 times out of 10.
-I tried 17's a few years back and they just didn't feel great. The car lost a lot of liveliness and I just don't think our chassis is really heavy enough to warrant them. I'm on 225-45/15's now and at least on a 2400lb car it's plenty. I mean, if you scaled me up to 3200 lbs that would be like 300's?
-8HP swap in progress shortly! I have one track day this Friday and then my 6 speed comes out for the 8 speed. Next year will be lots of comparison for which is truly faster (and also more fun..) Yes, paddle shifters and sequential is all possible.
